Evidently not, if many of the bad guys, find it so easy to get them, but many are surely taken in burglarys.....i like the mandatory ten years without reduction, if a crime involves a firearm......

the bad guys also don't acquire them legally. You won't find them going to gun shows and making a purchase or even to your local gun shop where background checks and waiting periods are required. They will buy them out of the back of a car, steal them, do everything they can to get them outside of the law.

What? Can't even use spell check?

Mandatory sentencing absolves judges of responsibility part of their job IS sentencing. If we reduce sentencing to a menu system then why not just get rid of judges?
Also, why is a crime somehow less of a crime if committed with a butter knife?

Sorry, that is just plain dumb.

So?
Many people eat at McDonalds. Since when is the 'many' right?
All the many is, is a herd.
Democracy is based on the assumption that a million men are wiser than one man.
RA Heinlein

The intelligence of any group cannot exceed the intelligence of the one person who happens to be the smartest. Intelligence is NOT quantitive.

Argumentum ad populum
In logic, an argumentum ad populum (Latin: "appeal to the people") is a fallacious argument that concludes a proposition to be true because many or all people believe it; it alleges: "If many believe so, it is so."

Judges are given the power (supposedly) to 'judge' the manner of sentencing, mandatory sentencing makes them little more than clerks.

How is committing a crime with a gun any worse than committing a crime with a chain saw or a lawn dart? This makes as much sense as a 'hate crime'.

enforce the laws we already have. Gun control has been proven world-wide NOT to work. Go after the criminals, not the law abiding citizens. And if you REALLY want to eliminate senseless deaths, ban automobiles - they cause many times more deaths than handguns.

Would you say a woman who has been raped and strangled is morally superior than a woman who carries a handgun for protection?

Gun control is double tap in the mass and single tap in the triangle. What are the lawmakers afraid of? Think about it....

The Second Amendment gauruntees that I have the right to keep arms. Arms for defence of my self and my family from violent criminals and from an over reaching goverment. The worst thing that could possibly happen is to take away the right of the people to self defence. the only reason to disarm the people is to subjugate them. The whole purpose of the Second Amendment is to guaruntee they can never be subjugated by a tyrannical government. Any one who believes that we would be safer without our right to keep and bear arms, has committed the gravest mistake of humanity. They have refused to learn from history. And those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Adolf Hitler disarmed the Jews before he shipped them off to the death camps. Every dictator through out history has first disarmed the people before they were able to take control of the people. you may also notice that the cities in this country with the highest violen crime rates are those cities with the most stringent gun control laws. New York, New Jersey, DC, Chicago, LA, all have higher crime rates than any city with pro-conceal carry laws.

Intelligent discussion? What do you bring to the table, other than blaming liberals for all the ills of the world? You make this clear by saying "At this point the party of tolerance and Hope & Change is nothing more than cannon-fodder for my entertainment."
It always has been. You have no interest in coming to topix and discussing issues. You're only here to regurgitate what Glenn Beck said on his show last night.
The difference between you and me is that I realize that deep down there really is very little difference between republicans and democrats I just find it fun to get cheap laughs out of the religious right.
You talk of spending cuts and fiscal responsibility and slam the $1 trillion dollar healthcare insurance reform bill that addresses some very big issues that affect people every single day. Working people. People being taken advantage of by their insurance companies because the laws say they can. Yet you (your party) offer no other alternatives. You just paint signs telling the world this is how Hitler got his start.
At the very same time you make your case about Insurance Reform you support adding $4 Trillion dollars to our national debt by giving millionaires a tax break.$4 TRILLION!!!
Thats why liberals don't take the teabaggers seriously and for the most part the republican party. Quite honestly it's why I don't take you seriously either.
"At the very same time you make your case about Insurance Reform you support adding $4 Trillion dollars to our national debt by giving millionaires a tax break.$4 TRILLION!!!"

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! So you believe giving tax beaks added 4 trillion to the debt???? WOW!! You really are a Kool-Aid chugging sycophant!

We need to get back to Constitutional Carry.Prior to the socialist gun law ideology of 68',there was a polite society of gun carrying law abiding citizens to deter gun carrying criminals. The socialist idea of only the police and military carrying guns "for our protection"has only been practiced in China,U.S.S.R,Cuba etc.etc.!No Freedom,No Liberty, just government control of the people by threat of death or loss of liberty(prison)! All at the whim of whomever was in control of the government! In the U.S "the people" are sovreign, not the government.Thats how it works in a republic.Unless "the people" are ignorant of their Rights, which is why we're where we're at,due to the massive media propaganda I've seen for the last 4 decades!

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Aquarius

You're very feisty and energetic and there's a lot you want to achieve. You'll get rather impatient if anyone stands in your way. A close emotional relationship will either be sexy and exciting beyond belief, or bad-tempered and tetchy. If you're in a grumpy mood, try to work out why - and what would improve matters. One thing that's bound to help is physical exercise, because it will burn off any excess nervous energy.
