Who would be brave enough to come and collect them? I am pretty sure no one will give their guns over easily. Not the way the world is today!

I think gun licensing should involve actual instruction, but otherwise I am pretty opposed. Didn't Mark Counts (Sheriff Candidate) say he was in favor of gun control at a debate recently?

If you have a gun, you sure need to know how to use it. Safety is the first thing to learn when getting a gun. There are a few certified instructors around the area if you want to learn how to shoot but make sure they teach you the part about safety first.

No you're not. Otherwise you would be opposed to mandatory licensing and instruction. Neither of which is mentioned in the 2nd Amendment.

Yup, the government wants more victims so you have no means of protecting yourself.

the constitution of the united states gives us the right to keep and bear arms.i will give up that right and my guns when they pry my cold dead fingers from around them.our men in uniform have fought to keep us that right for many years.take away that right and you will see this country go to hell in a hand basket.not only is it our protection but our God given right to be able to defend ones self.God bless the USA.

You're an idiot. Lots of things aren't mentioned in the Constitution. But the Second Amendment does mention a "well-regulated militia" are you currently a member of the United States military? No? Oh well looks like you're not allowed to own a gun.
And when the Founders wrote that, guns were muzzle loaders that took 10 minutes to reload between shots. Hardly the same weapons used to massacre movie audiences.
Look I'm not saying we need a new round of crime control laws, but to say that some jackass who can't piss straight much less shoot straight should be allowed to buy as many guns as he wants and then go off and sell them to who knows which mexican drug lord is just insane.
There are real issues with the sale of killing machines (and lets stop kidding ourselves about what guns are). So instead of pretending guns are super fun lets deal with those issues like adults and move on.

Speaking of idiots. What does being in a militia have to do with the PEOPLE's right to keep an bear arms? Will you be telling us how? Soon? Real soon?
What does the United States military have to do with a militia? Got a clue?

Because a frustrated control freak like you said so? Are you going to come take my gun, little troll??

They were the "assault weapons" of the time.
But let's take your logic further.
When the 1st Amendment was ratified, the only forms of free expression were the spoken word;quill & parchment;movable type.
So, I guess telegraph, radio, television, facsimile, telex, satellite communcation, microwave, cellular communications and the Internet are NOT protected forms of free expression as codified in the 1st Amendment.
Will you be turning those items off soon?

We already have laws against straw purchases. Or don't you stay up on this topic?

Wow! "Killing machines"!! Did you get that from a pollutician? Quite the dramatics.
So tell us, what exactly is a "killing machine"??

A militia is not military, You're the idiot, A militia is private and not part of government like the military. Thats why its a militia it doesn't have the government in the way of common sense.

In the days of the drafting the Constitution militias were volunteer forces called up by the states. For example, during the Revolution many 'Patriots' were members of the Virginia Militia.
And I was making the point that our current understanding that any U.S. citizen can purchase a firearm, is not the only reasonable way to read the text of the second amendment.
But all that being said, gun rights are important, and I'm not advocating for a ban on guns. That would be absurd.
But the idea that we should be selling drum clips people so they can fire hundreds of shots without having to reload, is also asinine.
People act like there is no middle ground between being able to single-handedly reenact the Matrix and total disarmament, when I think there is- its called responsible gun ownership.

Thyat you cannot read the 2nd Amendment properly more than explains your Obama support. Clips? Obviously you know very little about guns. And obviously you watch too many movies.
