Because I can't help who I love. And if I choice to boldly show my love for someone by saying that I want to spend the rest of my life with them, then I should be allowed to. Man or woman, I cannot control my heart.

Marriage does not belong to, in fact it predates, the Abrahamic religions. I don't know why people are even considering allowing them to control it.

1500 species of animals have homosexuals in them... so while not common far from unnatural.

Since we are not a theocracy, your theological belief is irrelevant to the law and rights of citizens

Marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman for the procreation of the human race. Two guys or two gals having sex is just sex----nothing holy or productive there.

Got you... so infetile people can not marry... nothing productive there...
Anyone who has been "fixed" can not marry.. nothing productive there.
Post menopausal women can not marry... nothing productive there.

Now tell me, in TX is does the wedding license have a prereq that within so many years of marriage you must produce a child or the marriage is null?.... No... well then why are you putting a road block against some people that you do not against others?.... oh thats right prejudice...

Also.. if the ssm has children via invetro or other methods... they can marry.. they are "productive"... just using your logic.

Now for the "holy" part of your silly post....
Sacred covenant... to you equals "holy"... would that have to be in the judeo christian definition of holy?... If so muslims could not marry, hindus....
If by holy you mean YOUR version of your diety... Then athiest can not marry, agnostics can not marry... Is that what you mean?

Addendum: "be fruitfull and multiply" expresses INTENT and not always success ,and the holiness of marriage is recognized by the Koran and the Torah, also, which represents thousands of years of precedent. The argument stands on the basis of continuation of the human race even without the religious perspective.

Be fruitful and multiply... so then infertile people, post menopausal women, and people who have been "fixed" can not marry because they can neither be fruitful and multiply.

As far as the koran, blah blah blah... are we or are we not a theocracy. If we are not then it does not matter what holy book says what.

IF the basis was continuation... t hen how come that is not a prereq in the marriage license? How come you do not have to agree to pop one out within x amount of years after marriage or have the marriage anulled. You want to punish people because they can not do what is not required in the first place.

You neglected to say if atheist and agnostics, groups which do not fall under ANY religious dogma can marry. I mean if it is a "religious" thing, and they are not religious....

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Capricorn

Don't take any risks when handling your finances today, because there are strange things going on. Someone may not be as straightforward and honest as usual, or can't explain themselves properly, which leads to misunderstandings and false assumptions. If you're spending money, make sure you're charged the right price and given the correct change. And don't let your wallet or purse out of your sight, in case you mislay it or someone nabs it.
