If your not Gay why do you care why other people do? Do you not have anything better to do with yourself? Being gay isn't a choice, I mean seriously think about it who would choose to be judged everyday of their lives, to have to fight for the right to just live a normal life. Or to be stared at going down the streets....no one would choose that it's who they are. Being gay isn't hurting anyone, and letting them have rights like straight ppl is only right. Everyone is EQUAL that is what AMERICA is about wake up and realize that it's truly none of your business unless your gay or your a person in the government who has to pass the bill.

Everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation (or race, age, beliefs,etc) should be able to have the same freedoms and rights, including the right to get married (or divorced) if they want.

I still don't understand how a same-sex couple getting legally married will CHANGE, UNDERMINE or DESTROY the institution of Marriage. Isn't marriage a public committment of love and monogamy? To promise to take care of each other in good times and bad, sickness and health, richer and poorer till death do they part?

Given that:
- 1/2 of all heterosexual marriages still end up in divorce;
- heterosexual couples can go to a "drive thru" wedding chapel and get legally married;
- Murders, rapists, child abusers can get married; and
- Marriage liscences are issued by the STATE and not the Church;

To deny same-sex couples the right to marry really IS discrimination.

To be “married” may be viewed as the last hurdle needed to be overcome by many same-sex couples. They then would become an acceptable part of the mainstream, no different than the rest. And through marriage, benefits and legal standings that a spouse and/or children are entitled to will be made available. What’s fair is fair.

Marriage is a equal right for all Americans...not just a select few. Your religious values are not mine and should not dictate other peoples views...Keep your religion to your self.

If they love each other, let them marry.

former Iowa Residents. gay couple together 32 years - married in 2006 in Canada. Iowa Supreme Court did a thorough vetting of the issue. I was proud of the in depth and thoughtful way it was approached. No one is forcing churches to marry gay couples. We are talking civil marriage here with the separation of church and state being preserved. Don't like gay marriage? Then you should absolutely not marry someone of the same gender!

Marriage is between man and woman

It's against nature...man and woman and our children shoudn't be raised/taught to think otherwise...if all were gays... there would be no children at all and the population would stop...how are they going to have children??? adopt and then teach that it is ok to be gay??? my answer is no to gay marriage...It is also plain in scriptures that it is a sin...

..yea...in the "scriptures" the part of the bible written by man....

yet no mention of it in the ten commandments,(the stone tablets with the rules set down for man by god)...

i find that funny....he does not want you coveting thy neighbors wife....
but no mention of blowing thy same sex neighbor.....

thought shall not steal.....but not a thing about munching thy same sex friends rug...

but the "churchies" always go back to the "scriptures"....even though they have been written and re-written, translated and re-translated over thousands of years......all by the one species on this planet that is NOTORIOUS for embellishing when re-telling a story....

leave them folks alone and let them enjoy the ups and downs of marriage same as we do....

hell if you thought about it...let them go through the aggravation of divorce like the rest of us do ....then they might change their minds about marriage....

the "straights" have cornered the marriage market for thousands of years now with a 50% failure rate.....

let someone else "up to bat"....see what happens

who cares if gay folk wanna get married....why should it concern you so much???

those that are secure in their own masculinity or femininity do not care what gay people do....unless they just have that underlying curiosity.....

not only is it agasnt Gods will but also that of mother natures. For instance, how many gay animals do u see on animal planet or in a zoo? it wud destablize the natural order of things in the world. it just plain wrong and if the gays search their hearts deeply they know its wrong also,,bob

Equal rights

First the neo cons do not want government in people's affairs but yet they want government to stop gay marriages, stop abortions which should be rear but safe not as a form of birth control.
Neo cons wants government to bail out the big banks, but not auto mobile companies which paid back their loans.
Neo cons does not compline when couples have to go to the government to get marriage lic.
