Bible states a man is not to lay with a man and a woman is not to lay with a woman. If the do they are to be stoned to death. Try and misunderstand that

The Bible says a lot of things, you know? Like you can stone your wife or sell your daughter into slavery. Friend, it seems to me you pick and choose. So please choose love instead of hate, because this nation was built on separation of church and state.

Marriage is a religious ceremony, get the government the hell out of it. Civil Unions would work just the same, but some gays, and even more than the, atheist, aren't happy with that, because they don't just want acceptance, they want to insult religious people in the process.

It seems to me that what gay people want to do is up to them. Since they prefer to live together and love each other they want the same rights as married couples when it comes to health ins., ss benefits, wills, estate privileges as married couples and any other benefits as other married couples who spend their lives together.

I agree that marriage for a man and woman was created as and from a religious ceremony, so why can't a Civil Union for gay people be considered the same as a religious ceremony and cover the same benefits?

There are just too many people that resent their old fashioned beliefs being tampered with and forced upon them. That is not fair. I really and honestly believe the gay population would be accepted and understood more gracefully in the long term if they would be less aggressive with their agenda. Also if the Religious old-fashioned would try to understand there are gay people that actually do spend their lives together as a loving couple and do deserve the same rights because they do work and do contribute the same to society. Some so much more than one can surmise!

No, I am not gay, I have a husband and two children and am just open minded as possible.

Gay people do not procreate and add to overpopuation.
Gay people are many of the most brilliant people on earth.
Gay people often take in unwanted children and raise them to be worthwhile citizens.
Gay people have feelings as you or I.
Gay people believe in God more than I most likely.
Gay people are more involved in every aspect of our lives than you or I will ever imagine and may have saved our lives in involvement in research of medicine or other areas such as the military.

Sure, there are bad people gays, but there are very bad ungays also!!

That is kind of a sweeping generalization. You can't assume all gays or atheists think the same way. The ones you have met, are a small portion. I remember a speech that once said, "Separation is NOT equality."
Gays should have marriage, as well as civil unions, or whatever they please. Especially, since a lot of gay couples are religious themselves, the idea that they are trying to insult religious people is a little bit absurd.

People who oppose gay marriage is clearly on the losing side, regardless of these votes. They're on the same side as the people who opposed inter-racial marriage. They blame religion, but that's obviously not the real case, unless they're truly crazy.

It isn't to insult the religious people, it is so have true equality. If two people of the same sex can't be together and call it "Marriage" then they may as well call it "Fake Marriage"
