Gay Marriage Debate - Summerville, SC

Marriage is between a man and a woman.

Aside from homosexuality being sinful, allowing gays to recieve marriage recognition will lead to any combination or number of people who wish to claim that they are "married" for the sake of claiming financial benefits.

I'm not stupid. That's why I support it. How do gays getting married effect your life so much that you hae to oppose it

How does gays getting married to the loves of their lives effect you so directly?

Homosexuals are satan's spawn. The Bible makes it clear they go to hell.

If that was how it was suppose to be then we would'nt have men & women, would only need one sex.

Fair point, I won't disagree that there is abuse by certain individuals. The important thing to look at is what the institution is about, and why the government recognizes marriage between a man and a woman. The fact that some people abuse it doesn't speak to the institution, it speaks to the individuals. There are always those who will abuse the system for personal gain rather than fending for themselves.

Nothing is stopping them from being with those "loves", why is it so important to you that we change the meaning of marriage?? Does it affect you directly, are you gay??

We are not a unisex species. If we were meant to be with the same sex then there would not be man and woman. We would not have a sex what so ever.

Pointing the finger and call them names is not the way to go about it. Using religious beliefs will not work either. I am a proud Christian but I am not going to fuel the hatred. I know that having any kind of sexual relation with the same sex is completely wrong on so many levels. I really hope that enough of us stand together to make sure that SC will not accept this. If we were meant to be with the same sex we would not have 2 sexes. We were designed to have man and woman together equally. One is not better than the other. I pray they will one day, change their minds.

Well, which is it?

Do you believe in the Bible, or are both man and woman equal? Because it cannot be both.

Even in the new testament, it says that women should stay quiet and not speak in church and to ask to their husbands if they have any questions.

That's a totally different subject. Radcliffe was addressing the gay marriage issue.

To address your point, the Bible does not say that one sex is better than the other. Assigning a role to a certain gender doesn't mean that the other gender is worthless, just that each gender has it's strengths and weaknesses.

Gay marriage does not affect anyone other than the 2 people involved. If their life affects you SO much, then you are terribly bored. Whats done in the privacy of 2 persons bedrooms is none of anyone's business!! All you haters wanna share your weird fantasies? The gay lifestyle is no more or less deranged as the average man's or woman's fantasies. You know haters, the ones you do not share, but still have. You may not like them, but they are here, and part of our society. As they should be. You read/believe the fairy tales of the bible, start with this one: Matthew: 7 1-2. Then, may you ever so self righteously, choke on this one: John:8-7.

If you don't want to get married to someone of the same gender, don't. But how dare you try to shove your pseudo religious beliefs down anyone's throat. How is two men who have been with each other for 25 years getting married going to ruin the sanctity of marriage? I think Kim Kardashian; Britney Spears and Sinead O'Conner have already done that with their short, shams of marriages.

Darling, check the labels of the clothes you are wearing. Any of them made of two or more fabrics? Yes? Then according to the Bible, you're going to hell too. You can't pick and choose which parts of the Bible to follow. Christianity is about loving people, loving your fellow man - not about spreading hate and ignorance. It's people like you who make me ashamed to tell people I am Christian.

I am in support of LOVE and EQUALITY for EVERYONE. Shame on those of you using the bible in opposition; God loves ALL of his children.

No one should decide who you can and can't love. And marriage is just a piece of paper. tell me when god said homosexuals can't MARRY.
