I believe that God created marriage to be between a man and a woman.

What about the polygamous marriages in the Bible? Like how Jacob married both Leah and Rachel? Taking multiple wives is totally okay in the Bible, so... marriage wasn't just between a man and a woman back then.

Also, America is founded on a separation of church and state, so you shouldn't bring your religion into this argument. In fact, there are plenty of Christians (I'm assuming you're Christian) who support same-sex marriage themselves. There are plenty of people in every religion who support same-sex marriage. Even then, this isn't about religion: it's about law. And our law was created to not be based on any religion.

Did you just go around to a bunch of different cities and copy and paste the same argument to make it look like more people agreed with you? I've seen you write this same comment like five times. That doesn't change the fact that it's a faulty argument. But just so other people can see, I'll paste my previous answer too how does that sound.

Are we at a place where we're facing dire under-population and concern that the next generation won't exist, or something? Or has the world population gone over 7 billion people? Furthermore, plenty of heterosexual couples are unable to produce children without in vitro fertilization (maybe the man's sperm can't fertilize the egg, or the woman experiences anovulation) or surrogate mothers (woman had a historectomy, etc). Are these couples cheating in these cases? I don't think so.

Same-sex couples that resort to the same measures are not cheating on their partners either. Also this argument implies that the only reason for marriage is to produce offspring, when there are plenty of happily-married couples who do not have any children. Are they unfit to be married as well?

If my husband dies in the hospital, I'm allowed to be with him in his final moments. If my brother's life partner dies (and they've been together for 17 years), they won't be allowed to see each other, because it's "family members only." I support the happiness and rights and love of my brother and his soul mate.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Virgo

Keep a pinch of salt handy today because not everything you hear will be the gospel truth. Someone might have manipulated the facts to make them sound more acceptable, or they may have got carried away and forgotten to tell you something rather vital. Try to keep misunderstandings to a minimum by being as straightforward and honest as possible, and by not simply assuming that people know what you're talking about and therefore not bothering to explain properly.
