Please wait...
what 2 consenting adults do in their private lives is their business and no one else's. The gov't should get out of the business of issuing marriage licenses anyway-its a religious rite. They should just issue civil unions to 2 consenting adults with all the benefits of marriage. then if anyone wants to get "Married" they can have the religious ritual performed.

“Homophobia is like racism and anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry in that it seeks to dehumanize a large group of people, to deny their humanity, their dignity and personhood. This sets the stage for further repression and violence that spread all too easily to victimize the next minority group. || We have a lot more work to do in our common struggle against bigotry and discrimination. I say “common struggle” because I believe very strongly that all forms of bigotry and discrimination are equally wrong and should be opposed by right-thinking Americans everywhere. Freedom from discrimination based on sexual orientation is surely a fundamental human right in any great democracy, as much as freedom from racial, religious, gender, or ethnic discrimination.” ~Coretta Scott King

Love is love is love, and the church is (supposed to be) separated from the state for a reason. Honestly, it's 2012. Why are we still debating about this? Get over it already and stop shoving your religious ideals into other people's private lives. It's inane and terribly unjust, and it just makes you out to be a prejudiced prat.

do not base what you believe is right on what someone ELSE said. use your own initiative to spot what's right and wrong. Common sense deems it anything but a sin to let two people who love each other, that are in love ,to make the ultimate commitment.

Human rights should not be a political issue to be voted on. Also, the argument that the sanctity of marriage would be compromised if gay marriage were legalized ignores the fundamental principle of separation of Church and State.
