Gay Marriage Debate - Salyersville, KY

It does seem as though more people than I thought (in magiffin county ) are accepting of gays and lesbians. There are more people that seem to post acceptance than non acceptance. That makes me happy. Now it's time for a gay pride parade! Rainbow banners and floats

live and let live. I don't want nobody telling me who I can screw,marry,or live with.I certainly don't believe any church should have a say in the matter.Tired of them tryin to tell people how to live their way.It sickens me.

I do believe people have the right to choose their own paths in their lives, and also with that to accept the consequences of their choices. Personally, I feel being gay is wrong and if you ask my opinion, I will tell you. But I will respect the choices you make for your life because, in the end, we each answer only for ourselves!

A) right to choose.... let me guess you are of the camp that believes homo. is a choice.... Tell us when did you "choose" to like the opposite sex.... not when did you begin to notice the opposite sex and get all weird feeling inside... but when did you sit down, look at your options, look at pros and cons and then make a conscious well thought out decision to be hetero?...... I know I didnt... I started to like the way girls looked, their new set of "sweater puppies"... but let me guess you are different from all others....
B) Tell us why your "feelings" toward homosexuals should deny a couple who have been together for 15 years and happen to be a ssc, the same legal rights and coverage as a couple married 15 minutes...

I don't have to justify the way I feel, think or believe to you or anyone else...it is MY right! Like I said, I beleive people have the right to make their own choices in life....I didn't limit that statement to any particular issue. I simply know how I feel...and I do feel homosexuality is a sin, and certainly only one of many we commit every day....but as I said, people are free to make choices and face whatever consequences result. So I do not have to defend my views to you anymore than I have asked you to do the same.

You can BELIEVE WHAT YOU WANT.... however.. YOUR belief should not infringe on their rights....

This is not a question of "do I believe homo. are a choice, or even sin" it is a question of rather or not a certain segment of society should be given less rights than another.

What was wrong yesterday is still wrong today.Born with a desire to kill does not make it ok. Born with a desire to be with the same sex does not make it ok. Born with a desire to steal does not make it ok either.....cath the drift? Wrong is wrong any way you look at it. We have to choose not to do wrong no matter how strong our worldly desires are. I dont care how "with the times" or without you are or just because some judge in some state says its ok or legal, thats bull crap, its still wrong and in your heart you actually know it! Dont give me that self justifying crap you people are trying to pull on us straight people. Go back to the closet & keep it hid like it used to bee years ago, get it off tv so the kids wont see it & shut your mouths because I for one am sick of hearing it..........Just be glad yoy cant go to jail for it like most of the other WRONG stuff. Im neither ignorant,untraveled,uneducated ,or gay...just honest!

Great response! How would these people feel if they had to face the judgment for homosexulaity that many other countries impose...such as the middle east! Here in America, we've watered down our values until we practically have none...and that's not just homosexulaity...it's adultery, stealing, baby murder...and on and on....

Maybe,,, just maybe... that is because here in america we are not a THEOCRACY. We are not ruled by what someone BELIEVES their holy book says. We believe all citizens should have the same legal coverage and rights... regardless of race creed color or s.o. We believe that you can read your holy book, live by what ever you believe your holy book to say... but can not use your belief to take away the rights of any one else......

Now tell me why a couple together for 15 years who happen to be a ssc, should enjoy less legal coverage and rights than a couple married 15 minutes
