Gay Marriage Debate - Saginaw, MI

Civil unions, OK, but don't call it marriage because it's not. Traditional marriage has enough problems without adding more confusion and immorality.

Gay marriage is a sacred union from God. I recently attended a valid Catholic marriage in Las Vegas by a valid Catholic priest, who once served in the Diocese of Saginaw. It was beautiful! One priest from the Diocese of Saginaw and the other from the Diocese of Lansing, united in love. The two priest have been in love since their seminary years. The priest in the diocese of las Vegas who performs the sacrament of marriage, with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, has done many gay marriages of priests and lay, presents a marriage certificate giving validation of a Catholic marriage. He is a beautiful person who loves all people as Christ did. Perhaps this is just the beginning of the spirit moving in the Church. The two priests will have to keep their love and marriage a secret for now. But the holy priest who perfomred this marriage has engaged in a beautiful ministry.

Gay marriage is just plain wrong!

What's so confusing about it? Two people in love. Its so simple and natural. Why don't you stop judging what other people are doing? It has nothing to do with you. Worry about your own family and your own marriage and leave us alone. This is the civil rights movement of our generation. A majority oppressing a minority.

I don't know what planet you live on, but there is no such thing as a "valid gay marriage" in the Catholic Church. It's just not possible. It will never be recognized. Christ still loves everyone, but he never said "go and do whatever you want." He said "go and sin no more." Even if your story is true that this so-called "marriage" took place, which is doubtful, all these priests involved would be defrocked. Homosexuality is incompatible with the Catholic priesthood.

Many of you say that gay marriage is not traditional marriage. However, look at yourselves: you get drunk at your weddings and only invite your friends to the receptions. God is not mentioned once. If you want to argue in favor of "traditional marriage," then you should follow the real tradition; this means you will include all family members, etc. Set your own example.

I don't know about you, but I can think of a lot of things that are stupider than allowing LGBTQ couples to get married. Unless of course you think marriage in and of itself is incredibly stupid and that gays are just one step above the idea of marriage itself for wanting in on it. This is really the only case in which I can even think of that would justify your comment.

Explain? Why should I need to? If 2 people are happy they should be together. I'd rather have happily married gay parents than divorced parents. Yes, I'd rather be adopted.

Love is love. The bible may say against it, but what about atheists and people in other religions? I personally see nothing wrong with same-sex marriage.

I still don't understand why this issue hasn't been resolved. I'm embarrassed for this country. Equality under the law and separation of church and state aren't that difficult to uphold. There should be no second class citizens in America, especially in matters of love and happiness.

How is it fair that a man and a women could be married for 4 months, but if two men or women want to, It's 'wrong'?

Equality is equality. We're either all people or the terrorists win.
