I feel that love is love... No matter if it is someone of the same sex or opposite. You cannot "choose" who you fall in love with and if you fall in love and want to spend the rest of your life with that person then you should have the right to marry that person.

It is a civil rights issue. They are many benefits granted to a married couple. A person should be able to marry the person of his/her choice. It is too intimate a decision to be legislated.

OK the truth has weighed in. Of course this poster is incorrect as most medical organizations have shown. Just another cookie cutter evilgelical post. yes I said EVILGELICAL! That is a supposed Christian who spreads hate, fear, and ignorance in the name of God. Don't want that destination, so don't be duped by "the truth's" delusions.

I thought this was a gay marriage issue not a homosexuality discussion. Gay marriage is an abomination and yes I am a Evangelical Christian Right Wing Believer. And I will tackle the Biblical aspect if anyone wishes, but till then lets talk legalities. The only real legal issue is if a gay can collect on another gays estate. And the simple answer is that pensions and retirements are in place to facilitate the minor children and perhaps untrained spouse. This is to aid in their ability to carry on without the bread winner, not as an entitlement program for the named benefactor. As for an estate, property, real estate or goods can be handled by simply deriving a will.

Wouldn't you agree that a choice is a supposition based upon fact or what we perceive to be fact. We then interpret those facts through deductive reasoning and base an analysis upon our findings? Would you be with your spouse ,if you have one, without making a rational choice through a rash of reasoning to find compatibility, attraction, harmony, charisma etc, to choose if you would make a good couple. Life is full of choices ,some good some bad, but none the less choices which present consequences either a punishment or a reward. The choice is yours.

Love is love as an emotion but as a motivator it is case sensitive. A father who molests his children claims he loves them, a suicidal husband who kills his family then himself does it in love. A mother who drowns her infant and so on all do it in or through their version of love. So is love really just love or can you have a perverted love?
All should be in favor of love, not hate!
Indignation isn't hate, you have the right to believe as you wish but don't label all who oppose homosexuality as haters.I don't feel you can make such a one size fits all blanket statement like that in an intellectual informative manner. Thats almost like saying all who are pro-homosexual are anti-human and desire to see an end to all man kind due to lack of procreation. Dose not nature teach us that we must maintain humanity through opposite sex unions. Or we will all be test tube babies or extent.

Marriage in this country is observed as a legal process, not a religious one. Most straight people don't even take marriage seriously so why not let those who want to, do so. If gay people have to pay taxes, can have children, have equal opportunities at work, it makes absolutely no sense to deny them the right to marriage. It's ludicrous that people are against it and purely for religious reasons. Our laws should not (or are not supposed to be) based on religious ideals.

You are absolutely correct, marriage is becoming a legal issue observed by law and not an institution governed by God.And we wonder why the divorce rate is so high.

The last part of your statement is so true, but I was talking about God not religion. Religion is bridled bureaucracy through bridling bureaucrats, relationship is alliance through reliance with reciprocity and mutuality.

Lu 18:27 But He said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."
