And while were at it, here's some other things you should be on the watch for:
" 'Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed.
" 'Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material.
" 'Do not approach a woman to have sexual relations during the uncleanness of her monthly period.
" 'If a man commits adultery with another man's wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.
" 'Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.
" 'Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard.
" 'When an alien lives with you in your land, do not mistreat him. 34 The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself,

Donny wrote: Read the Bible to see why I am against such an abomination No, YOU read the bible. You're the one making a claim, so YOU need to cite references to back them. Nothing cracks me up more, than people that think that the bible is some kind of operation manual for mankind.

Bottom line here- equal rights for all. If you don't agree with gay marriage then don't marry one. And keep your religion out of our lives. I don't care what you believe philosophilly. Live YOUR life according to the beliefs you have and leave us to live our life to what we believe. When life on earth is over it won't be up to you to decide if I get into heaven or not. And God does not need your assistance in judging people. There is a saying that fits this, take the plank out of your eye before you worry about the splinter in mine. A civil ceremony is all we're asking for along with the exact same rights heretosexuals have. The way most "christians" act ( and I use that term very loosely) they don't believe the judging should be left up to God. They believe it is their duty to tell everyone else what to do. God says to love the sinner but to hate the sin. I don't see much love coming from "christians" toward gays. There is a reason there is free will. And it is up to each of us to answer to God when the time comes. IF you feel that you must speak on the subject then by all means. But keep an open mind that God is the one to judge me, not you, not your faith.

If you check history you will find that marriage has been around centuries before religion. The Greeks and Romans had simple ceremonies and even before that there were marriages. That doesn't give the religious a right to snap it up for themselves.

I have been married to a female for nearly 15 years. That is the only way it is meant to be. A man is only suppose to be with a woman, not a woman with a woman or a man with a man. If it was meant to be that way then why was adam and Eve created and not Adam and Steve or Eve and Evelyn

It's a sick and perverted act; unnatural to the human body and detrimental to all.

I'm ok with gay marriage but when I married my first wife at the court house the judge said I was married and so did the certificate. I'm not gay and support same sex marriage. Remember that non gay people that live symbiotically can also have a civil union. Sorry I have a fixation for terms.

Your right only men and women should engage in the out dated and erouniously upheld institution of marriage. People that truly love each other shouldn't waste their time because their love and affection are much greater and longer lasting than marriage. Besides if gays married then us hetros will have a higher bar to cross. Keep your mind and eyes closed and you'll never be wrong!!!!

78% of American marriages between men and women in courthouses and churches end in divorce within 5 years, and 90% within 10 years. 5% of gay marriages end in divorce within 10 years. Maybe marriage between a man and a woman is code for bullish_t. By evidence maybe those opposed want something better for their gay friends than marriage on the speculation it will become as worthless as it is for hetros.

Since the institution of marriage is now down to 51% of the population it isn't viewed as very important by the majority of people. If marriage is such a valued institution why is that christians turn a blind eye to adultery, love of money, sex outside of marriage but they find gay marriage offensive? A sin is a sin. Why concentrate on gay marriage when there are more people engaging in premarital and extramarital sex than the number of people who want to marry someone of the same sex?
