If two people are in a loving, healthy relationship then they should be able to have the legal right of marriage. In a world plagued by domestic violence, we should be focusing on preventing the unhealthy, abusive relationships instead of prohibiting the legal matrimony of same-sex couples.

It is against God's will. Read the bible.
I think God intended for a man and a woman to marry so they can reproduce and two women or two men can't do that.

The Bible also says not to eat shellfish. And it says to kill your wife if she cheats on you. And a whole bunch of other archaic stuff in that same chapter where it decries being gay. So, yes, please do read the Bible. And when you're ready to follow ALL of the rules, then you can start trying to enforce them.

As far as the reproduction argument, there are PLENTY of heterosexual couples who either can't or don't want to have children. Should they not be allowed to get married? If they are already married, should they be forced to get the marriage annulled?

Keep in mind that we're talking about two completely different things here. We're talking about both the religious ceremony of marriage and the legal, government-defined act of marriage. Neither one should have ANY influence over the other.

Who is it for me to say wether too people can or should get married? What is it to any of us? If two women or two men want to get married let them. I personally don't care. It isn't for me to decide. I have seen some crap parents that are a man and woman together and I have seen two women raising wonderful kids. I don't think having a mother and father as opposed to two mothers or two fathers matters. Positive role models is what a child needs, no matter the sexual orientation. In this day and age there are so many children up for adoption and for women there is AI and endless possibilities to reproduce. So I say go for it. They can't do any worse than what most of the parents out there are doing! If they love one another and want to start a family, why stop them?

It doesn't matter to me. I am happily married and it isn't for me but the law shouldn't be able to tell a person who they can marry.

I agree with Lady A! It's nobody's business! I've been with the same man for 30 years and we have lasted longer than any of our straight friend's marriages. Some of them had kids, some didn't. Procreation is not always the reason for marriage. Straights also don't define the epitome of what a marriage can be...look at the divorce rate and get back to me. Also if you're going to quote the Bible, then practice all of it's preachings, not just the ones that are convenient to you as Joe Friday points out. Read some research about gay families and see how beautiful and enriching they can be. Quit judging others and pay attention to your own lives...that's how I try to live mine.

Who cares, if two gays get married? Saying it ruins the institution of marriage is absurd. If two gays get married I can guarantee my marriage will be fine. If you want to ban something maybe you should ban the stupid reality shows where heterosexuals make out with 20 different woman before they decide which one they want.

It's a legal union between two individuals. Anybody claiming it's a "holy" union, needs to stop taking the f'n tax credit for it.

Personally, I say the legality of marriage is archaic bullshit.

It's unconstitutional.

Right. While we're at it, let's do away with love.

I think it is sick for a man and man to be together or a woman and a woman. It just isn't natural. And that is my opinion. Now tear that statement apart. I still think it is wrong.

Well your entitled to your opinion, but your basically saying it's not right "because" I say so...that's not good enough to keep a segment of the population oppressed...nobody's asking you to like it, just recognize us and leave us alone....

Daily Horoscope for June 1

Libra

Feeling impatient? There's a lot you want to achieve this morning, so don't hang around. Venus is working for you, so get as much done as possible, because later in the day the Moon slinks into Scorpio, and you won't be very pleased if things get in your way. If you're faced with a logistics problem, the best way to solve it may be to throw money at it, but only if you've got the funds to begin with.
