There are two types of marriages: legal and religious. Our government cannot force people to honor gay marriages in religious areas, however gay marriages in legal settings are Constitutionally legal and supported.

It shouldn't matter if its man and woman, woman and woman or man and man..all couples, regardless of their sexuality, should have equal rights. Gays and lesbians should be able to celebrate their love, just like heterosexuals. Plain and simpler

Of course gay marriage should be recognized, the rights of the glbt community are trampled daily. If people have issues with the legal union of any individual they need to keep it to themselves. After all I don't complain when 2 heterosexual people marry. Maybe people need to realize Appomattox county let a heterosexual man who admitted being sexually inappropriate with their OWN blood children go scott free and don't press criminal charges even with a written confession to POLICE and DSS.

My husband and I live in Massachusetts. Living, loving, voting and paying taxes would be impossible for us in Virginia.

Freedom of religion is of course part of what our country is about. I don't think religion has any part of gov't decisions. The "sanctity of marriage" has nothing to do with gender, but about one's own dedication to the relationship. More than 50% of marriages, reguardless of religion, sex, age, political view, ect... end in divorce after being it sworn that "what God has joined, let NO man put assunder". All these people that want to fight gay marriage know that if we get the same rights, we get the same "tax exemptions" and you know what? If I'm going to support this country, I want the same rights, so everyone that actually pays taxes, should have those rights including gay people.

You will be ok Thomas. It's rough when people realize the truth. As time continues, as well as people changing, society changes.

It is not scripturally correct. Does not follow the laws given to us by our Creator.

"There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." proverbs 14:12
You have a choice and in the end it doesn't matter what you or I think, judgement day will determine that. Our Heavenly Father has already destroyed the earth and all inhabitants, save 8, one time because of their violence and behaviour, do you think that it is not possible again?

Does not the Book of Leviticus also say "not to wear clothing made of more than one material" and has numerous food restrictions, and condones the keeping of slaves!!! Do you follow these laws, or do you just cherry-pick to justify your own prejudices? Maybe you should read the words of JESUS, who talked of love, compassion, being non-judgemental, tolerance, peace, forgiveness, and helping the poor and the sick! Sad that too many "born agains" just talk of hate and condemnation......sad.

Mr. Blank. It appears that you or someone else using similar words has responded to scripture quotes with the same comments about clothing, food and slavery. Where do you see "hate and condemnation" in my response? anyhow, to respond: Because i stated a fact, does that make me judgemental? it is a fact, that homesexuality is an abomination to Our Creator. it has been stated in the old and the NEW testament numerous times...so I think He is serious. By the way, It is also stated not to lie with an animal....why was that even mentioned? People must have been doing that also. No, I do not cherry pick Yahwah's laws. I do follow the dietary laws. In fact, our oceans would be cleaner and our arteries would be healthier if we did not consume unclean "bottom feeders" of the ocean. They are Our Creator's system of cleanup. I do not eat pork and other items on the list. For the clothing, i wear just one type of material majority of the time. For slavery...the purpose was 2-fold. The "slave" who was actually a "debtor" to the other, usually committed a crime against the person and became their "slave" or debtor. And worked under their apprenticeship to pay off their debt and learn a lesson. In addition...the "owner" was to let the "debtor" go after 7 years, and if not then...there would be other times...in addition to the "jubilee year" where ALL debts were forgiven. Infact, if USA would follow the Jubilee custom...our national and personal debt would not be in the shape that it is. But alas, people did find a way to corrupt the jubilee system as well. Since, you do not know me, your tone of your reply sounds judgemental to me. But, I will not let that bother me, as I know that Our Creator does not approve of homosexuality...because it is written down in the old and new testament and i choose not to participate in that lifestyle. I do not hate the homosexual, only the "act" and I also know: "And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it." Satan is here and patroling the streets. and I also know, "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie."

You are quoting Leviticus, which also prohibits women on their period from touching anyhting becasue it becomes "unclean." And...the part pf the New Testament you are quoting is NOT JESUS...it is Paul ,who many have "issues" with. Jesus himself never mentioned homosexuality. I am not judgemental, just trying to undertand the motivation of people who take a small piece of Bible....you are absoulutely free to believe what you want, as am i..i consider myself to be a Unitarian. While Unitarianism does not have a set doctrine per se, one of several of the more common beliefs is that the Bible is the inspired word of God, but....it was written by men, and has been altered an is subject to human error (whether through differing translations, differing interpretations and/or exlcusion of some Books: such as the Aprocrypha). Just my opinion....

My final word on it all is all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. I doesn't matter if you are a homosexual or a liar, God will be the judge in the end of what is right and wrong. One sin is not greater than another. "Abomination" or not, there are a lot of people trying to put themselves in the seat of eternal authority to others. Let it be. You don't believe in it, DONT DO IT!

it's a civil rights issue, period. gay people are people too and deserve the same basic rights straight people are allowed. being against it is a RELIGIOUS agenda, and if you paid attention in school for even a minute, you'd know separation of church and state is KIND OF a big deal. also, you don't get to throw the "sanctity of marriage" argument around unless you're also going to start opposing divorce and not allowing people to get those, since if there was any sanctity in it, that wouldn't be allowed either.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Virgo

You have energy to burn today and it needs positive outlets, otherwise you'll be rather ratty and impatient. You want to work on activities that will show you in a good light, and you'll be annoyed if anyone objects to what you're doing or points out where you're going wrong. If you've been nursing a secret passion for someone, the frustration will really get to you.
