Despite the fact that I know many people in the gay and lesbian community, and despite the fact that I am close friends with some gays and lesbians, I am opposed to same-sex marriage. When asked why, I have to say that homosexual relationships are wrong. There is no rhyme or reason to homosexual relationships, and it is wrong-plain and simple. I feel for your frustration and anger, I truly do. I am a romantic to the center of my being, but I have to draw a line somewhere. Homosexuality is wrong.

Marriage is civil process. The people of state after state after state after state after state have rejected gay marriage. For a host of reasons.
Gays and lesbians are perfectly comfortable with setting aside constitutions, law, the rule of law, or the will of the people if it supports their parochial cause. Any group that extols this -- and there are many -- are a greater danger to society than is their issue itself.

If you believe it's wrong then don't do it, but don't stand in the way of someone else's happiness just because you were brain-washed as a child. 100% SUPPORT! "THE GOVERNMENT" should not have the right to impose itself on a person's life partner. And for those of you using the 'Adam & Steve' argument, guess what? That's YOUR bible-not everyone's.
I love my husband & my family very much. We have a beautiful, successful life. We are not 'surrounded by gay people', but we do have homosexual friends. When our 4 yr old son asks me why Cody has 2 Daddies, I reply, "because some people have 2!" And he says, "Oh!" And that's it! There is no difference explaining this to a child than there is the subject of divorce, death, adoption or racially-integrated families.
Are people REALLY this arrogant? Do they REALLY believe they have some ENTITLEMENT that their fellow man does NOT, simply because they love someone with a specific body organ? It's absolutely ridiculous that we are still debating this issue in 2010!

heres some food for thought...... I am straight and I am married. Does that effect anyone? does anyone give a damn? probably not.
Is my being married effecting YOUR marriage? probably not.
I have health insurance that I pay for out of my paycheck. Is this in anyway,shape or form, affecting your health care? nope, nada
Do I have a right to my own religious beliefs? yep
Soo... If I was gay...why would any of those answers change?
Why is being gay and wanting to be with someone and taking them as your legal mate such a threat to anyone? If you say, because it damages the sanctity of marriage..how? how does someone else's marriage effect yours? unless you or your spouse are cheating with another, or you or your spouse abuse each other,THAT damages the sanctity of marriage.
If you say..god is against it. Well isnt that up to the person and their god? Would you like someone telling you what you could and couldnt believe in?
If you say,,well, my taxes will go up to pay for their health care. really? Did you know, there are more STRAIGHT people on welfare that get medicare then there are gays? mostly single women and children.
If you say..well, I think its disgusting. now no one said you had to watch or participate. Do you want people to judge YOU on what goes on behind YOUR bedroom door? ok..heres one ... you say gays shouldnt be allowed to adopt children, because they would confuse the child and make them gay. Really? then how come most gays come from two parents that are straight?
AND you say being gay is a choice? Did YOU choose to be straight? and why would anyone choose a lifestyle that is so feared, hated, people have been killed over?
I am straight. I am married. I am the mom of 6 kids. one of which is gay.
