Gay Marriage Debate - Kernersville Area, NC

Homosexuals can't choose what they do and don't like anymore that heterosexuals. By that, they can't have control over who gives them that magical feeling and wish for commitment, so why should they have any less rights than anyone else? It's a human right, not a 'Gay' right.

I think that people should be able to marry who they want. Jesus people. You people disgust me with how you treat your fellow man. So what if they are homosexual? It's hardly different than being heterosexual.

The Marriage License should be dissolved by our Government... doing so would make everyone have to file taxes as a single person, and say on official state documents 'single' as well... then "Marriage" can be had by all and the church would have no reason to argue, then the Hetero's and the Homo's can be with whomever they wish... The Churches can still have good old fashioned weddings... although this would put a damper on the act of divorce now wouldn't it... and how many "Christians" live on alimony... if the Marriage License was dissolved then that would be dissolved as well, and well now we just couldn't have that now could we. If the Marriage License was dissolved then if a woman got pregnant it would be the choice of the father if he wished to stay.(That would make for great day time T.V.) Now before I get off my soap box... I have read every post, and I must say that there is a lot of hate in Kernersville, sad really. You know the founder of Kernersville was German and Moravian. In fact most of the towns in the triad were first Moravian settlements. As far as I know Baptists are only in the U.S.A. That should tell you something. The Catholics have done a lot in the past that was out right bad and they said they did it for God's word. But they are a peaceful religion, for the most part nowadays, like some others. As far as Heaven or Hell, well none of us can say for certain where we are destined. According to the Holy Bible only God has right to pass judgment on men when their life is over on this earth. And if I were a Christian, and trying to be like Jesus I would not have said the things that some of these people have. In fact I believe that Jesus, would have read, but not responded, or posted.( remember WWJD?) He never tried to bring much attention to himself. And since everyone was tossing out Bible versus, I guess I will join the fun.

Why is this a God issue. The bible says l lot about the things we do wrong. You know I was tought that a person could only divorce due to adultry but that person still could not remarry. Bad children should be killed. If your wife is not a virgin when she marries she should be stoned to death. Thats just some of the stuff thats serious. I wont get started on all the others like shrimp. Look according to the book that gay people is being judged on we all are sinners. Truth be told most of us should be killed for some reason or another. I dont think thats what the message is. I think that its just to show us the need for salvation.
The real issue is why does any one religon get to set the rules for others. Some people may believe in something else. Why do the laws have to reflect what your religon says. I thought the constitution was written to prevent just that thing. I respect your belief and do not wish to change your mind of right or wrong. There is a thing called human rights. We should all have the right to love and happiness. Yes I know that some would argue that this leads to sleeping with your pet sheep but anyone who is really thinking about the issue knows that its a poor defense. I wont even start whith the differences.

the above was my comment on the thing where you vote in the poll and it asks you to comment so i did. i'm not trying to get into an argument/debate with any of you. i believe what i believe and i believe it is right, and no amount of debating or arguing is going to change my beliefs, just as no amount of arguing or debating is going to change yours. therefore, i respectfully agree to disagree with those in favor of gay marriage.

Nobody has ever been born with evil sin in their hearts. The most innocent among us is a child. Don't blame God for your disobedience. Yes any two adults should be able to express their love and have the benefits of the marriage relationship. Our straight community doesn't hold the monopoly on love. Look at the divorce rate among us, it speaks for itself.
