I support the holy matrimony of two people who love each other enough to make a commitment of marriage for life. I believe that is the true Christian way. It's unfortunate that our society is so dysfunctional that our country has a nearly 50% divorce rate. We definitely need more love in our world. It's too bad most people today don't recollect the civil rights struggle of the fifties and sixties.

No, I don't support it. Marriage is to be between one man and one woman. The only species that can't reproduce itself other than a homosexual/lesbian is a mule.

Says who? Are you the arbiter of the English language?

I'm not sure what to say. You have an interesting understanding of the word "species". I guess you aren't the arbiter of the English language after all. Instead, you're just an embittered and ignorant dick.

Gay people are no less American, and no less human than any other person in this whole world than straight people and deserve the same rights as everyone else. No matter if they are born that way or if by choice.

If Larry King can be married 8 times, any 2 consenting adults should be able to marry.

I do not oppose gay people. I would support some sort of legal status for committed gay partners. However, marriage is and has always been a bond between a man and a woman. What is being asked of society is to change the meaning of a word that has religious and moral meaning to many people. It is like using the American flag as a hand towel. It is taking something that is somewhat sacred to many, if not most people, and desecrating it in a way that mocks its very purpose. Make up your own word to define homosexual partnerships. How about "Querage" for the noun and "Queried" for the verb?

I think that underneath all of the ridiculous arguments against same sex marriage all of the opposition towards it is really rooted in simple but shameful bigotry

^^^ Here is your best argument anti-gay marriage people. Tell me what the fuck the merit is of a tradition if it holds people down? There is no point clinging to a tradition simply because "that's the way it's always been". Oh and marriage is strictly a utilitarian institution made for the sole purpose of procreation? Nothing you believe is useful or relevant. Your traditions are going to die with your generation I promise you that.

And why should we pray from them, eh? To "save" them from homosexuality?
If you think your religion provides you with a valid excuse to place blanket judgment on an entire group of people who have a different sexual preference than you, then I'm sorry to say this but you are so thoroughly brainwashed that there is no hope for you.

If love between two people forty years apart is acceptable, and love between an abuser and an alcoholic is acceptable, then why isn't love between two lovers acceptable? Love is love, so why can't we let two people who are willing to love each other forever get married.

It's not the state's business who is attracted to who and it shouldn't be up to the government to dictate who can and cannot get married.

Of course I support gay marriage, not because I'm gay, but because I am human. I believe everyone has the right to marry whomever they want regardless of gender. To those who oppose gay marriage I ask them, "Who are you to deny others their right to happiness and equality?" Blame your ignorance and hatred on religion if you want, but I have a hard time believing my God would condemn his children to a eternity in Hell because they love someone of the same sex.
