the word marriage is defined as 1 woman and 1 man...no exceptions. Check what the bible says about being gay....it's not good! Those folks certainly can't produce any children.

God is dead The bible is a book to keep "order" in the world. When will people start living their own lives and not everyone elses?

But gee mom of five, what if I'm buddhist? I'm not going to reference your bible to make any kind of decisions on human choice. The real question is whether or not same sex marriages are going to destroy our country? will they create a financial burden for society? Or does it just make you uncomfortable.

Some stupid crack head's child that she didn't want after she had unprotected sex with a stranger...that will be their child and they will love it and raise it WITH morals! Don't be a hater! Get your nose out of the Bible...there are far more religions than yours.

Since we are not a theocracy, what you believe Jesus to be doesnt matter when it comes down to civil rights for U.S. Citizens... Tell us, why two U.S. citizens together for 15 years and happen to be a ssc should enjoy less rights and legal coverage than a couple married 15 minutes

Ok, someone explain to me why does a person's sexual activity define them as a person-gay. I have never understood why I have to accept or not accept a person because of who they have sex with. Sex is really a small part of a person's life and behind closed doors in the grand scheme of things. I have my personal beliefs just like everyone else so I would prefer NOT to hear and be expected to support anyone good, bad or ugly for who they have sex with. And for those that say I am more than who I have sex with, try to explain gay to anyone with out including that in the conversation.

It is not about who you have sex with... or even who you are attracted to. It is about rights of american citizens. The fact that two people together for 15 years who happen to be a ssc having less rights and legal coverage than a couple married 15 min based on nothing more than the ssc having same genitaila.

IF that be the case, we have rights under the law, but that is not the agenda that I hear or how being gay is described. As American's we all have the same rights, but sadly we live in a country where pubic opinion scrambles those rights to pieces. I do not want to be told I have to accept a choice that is contrary to my personal beliefs just because of public opinion. And yes, I have known people that say they are gay. Honestly in each case, something occured in their childhoods that warped their innocents. Tragic but true.

I do not want to be told I have to accept a choice that is contrary to my personal beliefs just because of public opinion. " A) it is not a choice. no more than you being hetero is a "choice". Unless you can tell us exactly when you sat down looked at the options, weighed all the pros and cons and then decieded (chose) to be hetero... then it was not a choice. It was something both you as a hetero, and then as homo. felt innate... born that way. B) WHO IS FORCING YOU.... who is making you accept it. You can be anti homo as much as you want... as long as it does not infringe on their rights as u.s. citizens.... No one has yet to tell me why a couple of u.s. citizens t ogether for 10 years and happen to be a ssc should enjoy less legal rights and coverage than a couple married 10 minutes. "I have known people that say they are gay. Honestly in each case, something occured in their childhoods that warped their innocents. Ok. A few years ago I came to what I believe a logical and rational decision on how I feel about homosexuality. Althought the thought of two men having sex together is repulsive to me (much less so two women)(oh yeah)I have to look at the following.
Every year in the United States approximately 10,000 babies are born, stillborn, or miscarried with a condition known as hermaphroditism. They have both male and female genitalia. Wow...how did God let that happen? Most do not survive full term and a great number die within two years of birth.
So...in my simple thinking if God can allow this to happen....big mistake....don't you think he can miss a little something in an individuals brain that determines to which sex that person is attracted. In my mind case closed. Homosexuality is a naturally occuring deviation or abnormality in the human race. These people deserve to be treated fairly and equally.

No, Jesus may be your "lord" but not for everyone. Marriage is laid out in religion as being between a man and a woman. I am a Christian, but do not believe our government can keep two people who love each other from being married because of a book. Separation of church and state right? It's always okay when it's about people who are trying to pray in school, but not okay when two people want to get married?
