Gay Marriage Debate - Independence, MO

Whether you call it marriage or civil union, every AMERICAN should have equal rights under the law, and religion should not factor into the equation. It is not fair that same sex couples have to sit back and watch all the perks go to the heterosexual couples.

Marriage = 1 Man + 1 Woman. Remember Sodom & Gomorah?

Perverts destroy the fabric of society. 1 Man + 1 Woman = Marriage.

Homosexuality is an abomination to God.

At one time african-american's couldn't marry, then they couldn't marry whites! Haven't we grown as a country to realize we are all the same and deserve the same equal rights!

People have the right to marry, and I don't see why it's even an argument in the first place.

I find it quite stupid that the U.S.A. is known for it's freedom, but bases it's laws over a fading religion. And furthermore, people are people, why does it matter who they sleep with or who we love. If 'God' was 'all for' homosexuality and 'hated' heterosexuals, then would you all be gay just because some fabricated man in the sky said it was better? If your 'All mighty God' can't handle the same sex loving each other, then he is not all mighty, he is a disgrace to the people he created. God cannot hate his creation, but his creation can hate him.

Everyone should have basic rights.

If we want to follow the constitution and offer equal protection we should have marriage equality for everyone, or no one. How would straight people like it if gay people got to vote one whether or not they could get married?

I shouldn't have to explain why someone should be able to love who they love.

Things that will happen if gays get married: Two men or two women will get married. Society will NOT fall apart. It would IMPROVE. To take away rights from gays is unconstitutional. All people have equal rights.

Marriage is a sacrament. If they want a "union", so be it. I don't think anyone would take issue with that...

Im me always have since 12 I had both parents at home..great role models etc.im in a 7 1/2 year relationship so in love we share a daughter her biological...she is 15 well rounded 3.9 gpa a freshman president of her german class,9th grade student body..inteligent black female wit two moms.ppl say kids who has same sex parents have trouble in school and emotionally..nit her she is a diva honey.anyway she was8 when I enterd her life. So I feel very strong about same sex marriage
