There is a separation of church and state. Your Bible cannot dictate the legal rights of another human being.
The Bible is also against divorce, yet that is allowed. Why?

Dude, people have their own rights to marry the people who they TRULY LOVE, just as much as the straight people. Also, I think gay couples are actually quite cute.

For those that use the biblical argument against gay marriage, the passages that you quote as your justification for denying gay marriage are surrounded by other passages used in the past to 1) support slavery; 2) deny women the right to vote; 3) justify domestic abuse, among others. If you believe so strongly in the rules of the bible, you would have to live, in effect, the life of a hasidic jew.

Besides, Jesus himself rejected the laws of Leviticus on several occasions. He didn't cherry pick those things you could and could not do. As for the justification in Romans, 1) that came as a result of a mistranslation of the greek work "Dokimon"; and, 2) it is speaking only about acts used in non-christian religious rites.

Unfortunately, there are those that would use passages of the bible out of context or in an overly legalistic way to justify their own fears and prejudices. Christ admonisted those who hate. Why do you use his teachings to spead hate, itself?

Love is love. It shouldn't matter who you share it with.

Most don't understand or don't believe that the Bible is the word of God. Marriage is a Sacrament of God which is speritial and not in the flesh. So only God can join two; a man and a women that believe; in holy matramony. The pastor, priest, or justice of the piece are only witnesses to the marriage. The marriage licence is strickly a civil document that legally binds you to a civil union used by the government signed by both partys plus the wittness. So gays and lesbians can jump through the same hoops but it can never be sanctified by God because intamicie between the same sex is a sin. Sorry can't happen.!!!!

If two gay people cant get married, no matter how much they love each other, you cant get divorced no matter how many times he cheats on you or how fat and gross she gets.
