You?? A christian? you need to read Leviticus 18:22 VERY closely before you say that again.... and yes, That was judgement passed.

We all have the civil freedom and right to marry whom we choose. Religion should never be a part of the fray when it comes to a marriage based on economic ties. That's for the church to figure out. The government, however, should allow we, gays, to marry.

There are a lot of other things that are "wrong" within the bible. All because it states that homosexuality is an "abomination" doesn't mean you have to ensure that gays can't marry. I mean, I don't see one stoning his/her daughter when she's wed to a man and doesn't tell him that she isn't a virgin, and I don't see people burning mothers for wearing two types of cloths at once. It must also be noted that the translation of the bible has gone through many peoples and languages. Therefore, not all words of the Bible have the same intention and power today as it did more than about two thousand years ago. If one doesn't like the idea of marriage between two men or two women, then don't think of it in terms of marriage. Let the Church decide that. All citizens of this country, through the pursuit of happiness, should be allowed to at least have a civil union; thereupon, protecting their economic and civil rights and liberties.

It sickens me that some people will preach forever about how God supposedly is going to damn all Homosexuals to hell. Last I heard, and this is from a preacher his-self, "God Loves us all, he wants us to be happy and live forever in a happy care-free community." If that's true, then LET IT HAPPEN! People are only going against his word by condoning the hate, and the "damnation." All of the threats that are saying "Homo's are evil," or gross, or Satan's spawns, etc. It's a waste of you're time. No one is saying that Religious folks should go to hell for what you believe in, so why harass someone else for theirs. Direct quote from the bible: Luke 6:31 "And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them."

You are correct, and this is the main reason that I will not vote for Gingrich, Romney or Sentorum. All are self appointed moralists (who think they are sanctioned by God), yet are the first in line to deny the civil rights to gay Americans. I am not gay, but I know that when it comes to the Constitution, gays should have the same rights as me or any other heterosexual, which includes the right to marry who you love. Evengelical right wingers like to deny the fact that the Declaration Of Independence's statement of "...endowded by their Creator with life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness"...somehow does not apply to gay people. Thomas Jefferson would puke on their shoes. And, I am sure that God is not real happy with their persecution of a part of his Creation either.
