Gay Marriage Debate - Elgin, IL

In the USA, marriage is a cival union which requires a liscense from a gvt. agency. The gvt. is by the people for the people and the constitution doesn't ban gay marriage so the logical deduction would be that gay marriage should be legal. Don't know why people get so upset about what is going on in other's bedrooms.

the constitution is pretty clear about one thing: the separation of church and state. i can empathize with those on the other side of the debate as i am a religious person myself, but i won't support those who use their religious beliefs to defend their intolerance and hatred. people who are opposed are afraid, and there is no need to be. all anyone is asking for is a legal, binding marriage in the eyes of the law. we are withholding a right afforded to the general population by denying it to a few. simply put, it's wrong to do so.

Everyone deserves equal rights under the constitution.

Everyone has the unalienable right to be nagged to death by a foul mouthed bitch.

Love has nothing to do with the goverment. No one's shoving it in your face. Do gays say you're shoving straight marriage in their face? No. So don't.

Homosexuality is a sickness, the government probably has the cure for this too but like abortion they see it as another form of population control, so they won't cure homosexuals..

Why do you need to ask? Is it natural? Sex is for procreation, are same sex couples able to do that? No, they need the other sex. It's just stupid that this is so widespread - it's gotten to be blown way out of proportion and is not newsworthy. It is not a government issue.
