Save the money and do it yourself? You're the one using ad hominem arguments instead of discussing the issue.

A few individuals!! look around you there a lot more than a few individuals, it is truly sad that many people are close minded in accepting a so obvious reality.
The obvious reality is that marriage is ordained by God as 1 man and 1 woman,

it is true, and perhaps it should be a requirement, perhaps it would curb most of the juvenile crime, maybe our jails woldn't be full of kids raised without a father.
No law requires either normal or homosexual couples from having a father and mother, now, we just want to keep marriage between 1 man and 1 woman, to give the Children the best possible chance at success in life.
Its not a requirement, never has been, never will be. You just want to make it one and only apply it to homosexuals. You don't really care about giving children the best possible chance in life, you are just using that as an excuse to target a group that you hate -- but no you would rather have children raised by single parents than with a family who is homosexual -- not because its better or worse, but because you just hate homosexuals.

I believe the Bible speaks to that.

My friend I know it is really easy to through around the "H" word, but I assure I have no hatred in my heart, against you or anyother homsexual.

Since homosexauls are not eligable to partake in the privelage of marriage that kind of restriction wouldn't apply anyway. I would perfer that men and women stay together to raise thier children or just don't have them,

Bigotry does not require hatred. Many bigots are simply enculturated or indoctrinated with bigotry.

There is no reason why the US government should deny marriage licenses to same sex couples.

Law and precedent are good reasons for the federal government to consider marriage only between husband and wife.

To be more specific, marriage is defined as man and woman in the Texas Constitution and DOMA is the law of the land.

So habit is your best reason?

Laws change, necessarily, to best serve society.

Big whoop. Supreme Court decisions override state law.

Again, they pay taxes, they fall in love, so let them marry. Not hard.

I don't throw around the word hate lightly, only where it is deserved. Too bad your hatred is so strong, you don't even see it a such anymore. As we have seen however, every time you try to use a rational basis to explain your bigotry, you want to except everyone else from that reason and apply it only to homosexuals. If you want to call it love that's your choice -- you can delude yourself all you want, but hate is hate no matter what name makes you feel better about it.

Law and precedent, like any other logical fallacy based on authority or history, are not good reasons for the Federal Government to continue discriminating against homosexuals. "That's the way its always been" is an argument for scoundrels and has always been used to justify bigotry.

Keeping marriage between husband and wife is the best interest of society. We don't want to redefine marriage, nothing against gays but it's not fair to change social gender roles for everyone with new rules for a fundamental institution. I don't even think the Federal government has the right to recognize two men or two women as married, under Federal law and our right to privacy.

You do what you want in your state, I say "Thank God bless Texas!" The Constitution defines marriage man and woman.

Granting marriage licenses to same sex couples does not do anything to redefine social gender roles for everyone. That doesn't even make sense. All it would do is allow same sex couples the ability to enjoy the same benefits under legal marriage that opposite sex couples enjoy.

I have no idea how this affects privacy.

There won't suddenly be more same sex couples, or a shift in cultural norms. Gay couples are already doing everything married couples do, to the extent that they can without being married. Denying them the ability to be legally married is spiteful and juvenile.

Same sex marriage redefines cultural norms; it says two men or two women are no different than man and woman. It changes the rules in ways you can't imagine.

Gays will be harmed more than any other group, because of same sex marriage. Keeping marriage between husband and wife might be the kindest, most considerate thing you ever do for homosexuals.

Cultural norms have already been redefined. Religious zealots and bigots are just lagging behind civilization, as per usual.

So you're just looking out for gays? You are hilarious.

Cultural norms can and must be redefined all the time -- if they weren't we would be living in caves, beating women with sticks and owning other human beings. Bigots like to appeal to tradition because it is only through tradition that you can justify oppression and discrimination. Bigots are also forced to make bizarre arguments like discrimination and oppression helps the oppressed. They used to make similar arguments that black people should be thankful for slavery because slaves have everything they need provided for them. Well I guess bigotry is by nature nonsensical.

even then marriage was 1 man and 1 women, some things just don't need to change, they are timeless the way they are.
