Married has historical and traditional meanings. If we change that, then when may as well remove ALL limitation of marriages -and I don't think society ready for that.

1) Gay marriage would give de facto consent for gay adoption and that is too great a risk to children. Kids need two parents, one of each gender. 2) Living the gay lifestyle is a choice, not an irresistable urge. Sex is a strong desire, not necessary to life.

Because the old saying just ISNT going to change no matter how much the 'alternative' group wishes it to change ..... "God made Adam & Eve, not Adam & STEVE!" Homosexuality will forever be an abomination, as it IS a demon straight from the pit of hell and nothing will EVER change this people!

Most of the opposition that I've seen seems to be based on people's religious or spiritual beliefs. I necessarily support gay marriage, but I don't think that our government's policies should ever be based on religious view, so if the government recognizes any two adults being married they should not take in to account gender, race, creed, etc. Churches however should not have to preform or recognize any marriage they don't want to. That's one of the great things about our country, no group's religious beliefs no matter how large or wide spread should be imposed upon anyone by law.

Sorry about the multi posts. Something didn't seem to be working, and I guess I should have a cup of coffee in the morning before I post anything. Again, I apologize.

I think you need more than a cup of coffee. You need a drink. First you do support then you dont. You're a real waffle.

Why should ones religion dictate who gets to marry to the exclusion of other religions?

What is the historical meaning. Because I do seem to remember that even the christian historical meaning has changed over the years. Take abraham and his many wives for example. Yet today we are against polygamy.

Yet im gay i have no desire to have sex with someone of the opposite sex. Your right that we can avoid sexual urges. but your wrong to think we choose this. Or when did you choose to be straight? When did you make that Conscious choice?

Also do you honestly believe that all children are being adopted as to make it right to choose who they should be adopted by? I'm pretty sure that many adoption agencies have older children that arent being adopted because most people want to adopt babies. Also a study posted here on topix proved that LGBT parents are at least as good as straight parents. Another thing. When an LGBT couple adopt a child we want that child we love that child and were going to care for that child as if it were our own. How many stories have you read about a straight couple having a child and throwing it into a garbage can. or child abuse, or child molestation by the father or mother, or how about those parents who locked their child in a box when they were away. Ever hear something like that from a gay adoption? gays can legally adopt just not as a couple and trust me i know many wonderful parents who are same sex couples.

At what point in your life did you realize that you were attracted to both male and females.. then decide that you had to make a choice... and choose to date/marry the opposite sex instead of the same sex?

Take all away all the damn privilages your government gives to married people and treat everyone the same, then who cares if marriage is legal or not. When did it become part of a government to decide who can and can not get married. It seems like your forefathers had the foresight to keep church and state sepparated and yet you people can't keep a relationship sepparated or together.
