No matter what people try to do to twist God's word, He defined marriage and His word is what counts. Whether or not you believe in Him, His word still holds for today, tomorrow, and always. Everyone will be judged by Him, everyone, no matter who they are.

If two people live together as a family, they deserve the ;rotections and benefits of a family.

Two committed individuals (whether they're of different or similar sex) should have the right to enter into a legal institution and afford rights protected by our laws. As as a member of the LGBT community, I can comfortably state that we really aren't concerned so much with the TITLE; we are only looking to be afforded the same rights and benefits as any heterosexual MARRIED couple!

How people live their lives is their business. They will be judged just as we all will when the time comes, besides there are worst things going on in the world (war, gang violence, child abuse, and child sexual abuse)

Everyone has the right to love and be loved. Who cares what someone else is doing in their home. If you care so much about what others are doing in their homes You are voyeuristic and must NOT have anything going on at your own home.

As I see it the government needs to drop the marriage word completely if it is so religiously tied to this partnership commitment. Separation of church and state issues once again. I think there should be a partnership certificate that is equally given to a straight or gay couple who wish to be in a legally recognized with equal benefits awarded to each joined couple. Then those who wish can go to their church and have a religious marriage performed. Basically the state needs to stay out of your bedroom and your church. The GLBT relationships deserve the same rights that are given now to heterosexual couples. They pay the same taxes and should be given the same benefits. If people are so bent-out-of-shape over the religiously entwined word “marriage” then fine… nobody gets a marriage license by the state anymore and each couple should be basically given the same “partnership” certificate that they can then take to their religious institutions to perform their religious ceremonies. Heck you can jump over a broom stick if you so wish. Do your research on the meaning of marriage by the way. It traditionally only had to deal with inheritance laws and had nothing to do with religious endeavors. In the Judo/Christian stories Eve was actually Adam’s second wife who replaced Lilith because she wanted to “date” a bit more aggressively so the straight coupling even in the naked forest was less puritan and holy than one would think. Again we return to hating those that are different from ourselves… basically tribalistic and rudimentary in thought and behavior.

Marriage is about love between two people. Why anyone would want to interfere in the personal business of others is beyond me.

Marriage is a contract between two individuals. The State has no say in that. Same with prostitution, it's a contract between two (or more) adults. There are far too many instances where the State (I mean the government as a whole entity) interjects its will into individuals lives. It's beyond time that we demand that our contracts be honored, all of them.

It isn't harming you, so why should it let their personal choice of who they are going to love bother you. Why hurt them and keep them from the person they are attracted to? If you don't approve, don't participate in the action and activity. What happened to separation between church and state? If you can't pray in schools and teach from a religious bias, why should a law be built around religion?
