i support gay marriage because one i am gay i am engaged to a wonderful woman and i think that if you love someone man or woman that you can't control who you love. and why should anyone else try and control it? people need's to stop judging and let us live our lives.... I for one take pride in being who i am and no matter what people say or do i will never change who i am...

Two words: equal rights. Quite frankly, to all of the Bible quoters, Jesus would be appalled at the hate and the fear. Also? Read the whole book, folks. You pick and choose quotes to support your argument, but ignore the hundreds of other "commandments" you're breaking every single day.

How does two consenting adults who want to make a life together have any affect/ effect on you you fucking god fearing human hypocrite?.. if you guys love to quote god right. Quote it right. "We have free" for a reason. So get off your god damn high horse. Get over it. And behold gods purpose of this world was procreation, life. Marriage was a contract of trade.. from predetermining who you would wed before you were 2. Being traded for what was considered "riches"...a cow. Or simply given to a man who you could bare 30 children. Was it not good old king Henry who had how many wives?..was he not Christian? Has Christianity not evolved. And will continue to evolve. The bible has nothing to do with the means of man *humanity* and there individual means of happiness. But has to do with general happiness. The bible speaks nothing on romantic love or how one should love. So stop refering back to the "good" book as if condemed homosexuality. As if. Homosexuality didn't exist before the bible.. while jesues walked our earth. If you do your homework... and actually studied some form of the real faith. "Theology and facts of christianity". You would be aware that homosexuality wasn't even a fucken word until some time later. When they wanted to describe the sexual acts between the same sexes. So.. if it so happens..it is a "sin".. or like most would say...a "we will burn in damnation"... why not leave it up to us..and let us burn for the love we have for our fellow man/ wmn..let us commit sin..as you so proclaim it is..and when the time comes and when the earth has ...a couple of more of "the end of days dates".. let us then see who goes to this paridise.. the one who cast the 1st stone...or the one who lived there life without regret?

I'm straight so my questions are 1. What does it matter married or not as long as you're with the person you love. 2. With all the real problems the people of this once great nation are facing, all you gays, ask yourselves, is this worth turning attention away from the shit that really matters? It'll be cool when you people can marry each other but what happens when you finally get that right but no one can afford the fucking ring. For once stop trying to make everything g about yourselves and let's all focus on what really counts, THE ECONOMY. Truth be told it's not the legal rights you people are searching for, it's your notion of acceptance. You want this to be legal so somehow you will feel more normal. Who cares what anyone, much less the government thinks about your relationship? Once again let's focus on what really matters, stop wasting taxpayers hard earned money, and countless valuable political hours, on frivolous litigation.

Tell you what... if you are married, get a divorce give up all the rights you have as a married couple and live together... after all as long as you are with theperson you love......

2. With all the real problems the people of this once great nation are facing, all you gays, ask yourselves, is this worth turning attention away from the shit that really matters? Spoken by someone who has the rights that are denied the homosexuals.
In the 1960's would you have said the same things to blacks wanting equal rights?....

Truth be told it's not the legal rights you people are searching for, it's your notion of acceptance. You want this to be legal so somehow you will feel more normal. "

Do you REALLY believe that they think "gee if we are allowed to marry we will be accepted"? Please. This is about equal rights for all american citizens. period.

"Once again let's focus on what really matters, stop wasting taxpayers hard earned money, and countless valuable political hours, on frivolous litigation"
Ask yourself this... is ssm was allowed yet osm was not... would you feel the same way? Would you keep quiet and "stop wasting taxpayers hard earned money (btw homosexuals are part of the taxpayers also) and countless valuable poliitical house...".....

For one, I oppose all forms of marraige, gay straight alien, it doesnt matter. If you want to be with someone a church or a government has no affect on your emotions for one another. Two, how dare you compare same sex marriage to civil rights. Noone is telling you that you are inferior because you're gay, they're just saying that according to the prehistoric principals that this nation was founded upon, "legally" aren't allowed to get married. That's way different than being beaten and lynched because of your skin tone. Three, as taxpayers, gay people should realize that in the grand scheme of things this is just a tiny insignificant oversight by our founding fathers. The whole point of what i'm trying to say is, let's handle the shit that really matters, then we can work on flower print tuxedos and pant suit wedding gowns. Gays and illegals chafe my ass because well i already stated my issue with some gays and well illegals come here illegaly and have the stones to demand the same rights as everyone else. If you didnt have the right to be here then what makes you think you have any other rights here? Back to the original topic, i'm not a gay basher or a homophobe but i am a realist, and as a realist i try to see the "real" issues. This issue has all the hallmarks of the jersey shore mtv generation. Sure in your heads it's a big deal but in the end what does it help? Does it promote economic health? No. Does it promote world peace? No. Does it help lower any kind of criminal activity? No. Do the poor people in our hoods get any form of help from this? No. Does the single mother with two children get help with babysitting after gay marriage is passed? No. So what the fuck does it matter? The answer is IT DOESN'T.

Actually the comparison is quite on point. Both are being told what that they can not do something strictly based on what they are. You have no more choice in being black than they do of being homosexual. They want the equal right to get married to whom they want...just like in loving v. They want the rights to enjoy the same government granted benefits both legal and monitary as any other u.s. citizen. That is what the civil rights movement was about also. As far as beating and lynching.... please. Do you not think that many gays have been beaten and killed simply because they were gay? Tell the parents of Mathew Shephard it is different. You say it is not the same... funny Correta Scott King said that MLK would have been for homo. rights and ssm if he had been around. So rather you like it or not, the homo. community is fighting for the same thing any minority fights for... the right to be treated equally as a u.s. citizen.

A) I am with you afa illegals
B) How dare the homosexuals citizens" have the stones to demand the same rights as other citizesns"...Who do they think they are... they were only born a u.s. citizen... they have absolutely no right demanding to be treated equally as one. I mean really......

"Back to the original topic, i'm not a gay basher or a homophobe "

Ya I could tell that when you said "then we can work on flower print tuxedos and pant suit wedding gowns." Gee doesn't sound to bigoted of a comment does it?.... Now if someone were to say the same thing regarding blacks... but changed the word s to I am not prejudice against blacks but ... then we can work on getting them fried chicken and watermelon.... Would you say the person saying that was not prejudice.... but that is different.... right
