About a month ago, I saw where 17 had been killed in one week - I have a friend that lives in Chicago, she said they are very careful about the areas they go into now. My kids learned to do it all - they have friends that can't do anything - which is better - my son can do electrical wiring, plumbing, mechanic work, use a chain saw - plow a tractor - build a building - all the things that go on daily on a farm - we have one friend that knows nothing - who do you thing grows up the most secure. Hard work built this country.
I'm good with mechanics and can figure out wiring relatively easily, but one thing I won't touch is building something. I wish I had paid more attention to what my dad was doing when I was smaller when he'd have me help build onto his home, I'd like to be able to build onto mine now w/o incurring labor costs. It's an asset to know how to build, especially when it's not your trade. Maybe I'll barter some IT work lol.

It is good for kids to spend time with their parents doing projects - we always included our kids in whatever was going on - sometimes they are just in the way, but they are learning and they grown up to be more qualified adults in my opinion.

I had 2 daughters that worked on our farm and they will tell you today that those times were some of the best memories they have. What can be better than a family working together sharing the laughs and tears of whatever comes up. Some people should try it they may like it. By the way, today one is an E-6 Navy Corpsman and the other is nationally certified MRI tech. Did not seem to hurt them.

Just what the country needs...more reasons for the Government to butt into our business and run our lives.

Seems like they did ok - we always worked together and played together. My grandchildren have to work in the garden and they are small.

Maybe so, I have only one more remark - "I want the government to stay out of my life" many generations grew up and built a great nation without government intervention.

That's one reason America's youth is so lazy, Not made to work for anything. It's also none of the Governments business if parents issue chores unless physical abuse is present, Then the law should step in if reported.

y

I totally agree - if kids are busy they won't have time to get in trouble.

Matters of the heart take an unexpected turn today. You might be strongly attracted to someone you've never looked at twice until now, or you could fall for someone who's much older or younger than you. If you're already involved in a relationship, either you or your partner will want to make it more exciting and spontaneous. Is this a suggestion that will go down well?
