Instead of getting all your alarmist bullshit "news" from the idiots at Fox, how about you go read the actual proposal? What you'll see, spelled out very plainly within the first few paragraphs, is that the new proposal only covers HIRED farm laborers and does NOT cover kids who work on family farms.
Total Non-issue. Stop being stupid.

Whether it covers kids on family farms or not. It's another fine example of govt over reach. I know a lot of kids that like to make some money by working on a farm. What's the big deal about it?

So child labor laws are government overreach now, huh? You do realize there was a time in American history when we had 12 year olds working 12hr days in coal mines because they were cheap to hire, don't you? And that child labor laws were put into place because kids were being exploited?

Yeah, some kinda government overreach that was.

Besides that, most kids I know who make money working on farms aren't considered HIRED LABOR by government standards. Ever seen a farmer make the neighbor kid fill out a W-4 before he lets him up on a haywagon? I haven't.

Again -- total non-issue that's being blown out of proportion by people with bullshit political agendas.

All I'm saying is that if a kid wants to work on a farm and the parents are ok with it. Then let them. It's better than a kid sitting in front of a tv all day playing video games. If more kids learned what hard work was maybe they would appreciate things more.

its for people who hire underage kids to work in their farms, it has nothing to do with farmers and their kids.

this is for people who HIRED them!!! legal contract, employee/employer!!! payroll and taxes, all that. Not for your kids or anybody else helping a farmer.

it is a law that was drafted to go after farmers who hire illegal aliens who hapened to have been underage.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Sagittarius

It's important to be discriminating about what you say and believe today. That's because communications are rather strange, with people saying or doing odd things and plenty of scope for crossed wires. Be very careful if you're attending to important details because for some reason your brain may switch off at the vital moment, leaving you prone to making mistakes or losing track of what you're doing. Try to double-check anything important tomorrow when your brain is back in gear.
