These farm children are learning to work not laying back and recieving welfare like those in the ghetto. It is best to learn these values of hard work early, and not become parasites. Social Security is broke. We are 16,000,000,000,000 in Debt and we cannot afford to provide welfare to the work. Work is not a 4 letter word.

Pigford farmers are exempt. Why? Because there were not any real farmers.

Children of business proprietors have always done chores and otherwise helped out in the family business. The experience seems to provide discipline and a work ethic to those who have been fortunate enough to grow up in this environment. The only exception I can think of is John Boehner who breaks into tears each time he recalls sweeping the barroom floor. Both of my parents and their siblings grew up working on their family farms which was a great benefit to them as responsible, hard-working Americans.

If its a factory operation owned by a large corporation, kids are not allowed to work there under federal law. On the other hand, if its a family farm, all should take art to help make a living.

These proposals are a strategy to get unions representing every form of labor. The liberals cry that family farms are dying yet the pinko commies in government want to end them under the guise of child labor.

Government interference into families, while good in initial intention, has not served us well overall.

I'm all for protecting children from neglect and abuse but basic discipline has been flushed in the process.

Its up to the parents. Too much is regulated already. Government is too big, and spends too much.

Every adult here grew up doing chores - it's a way of preparing children for adulthood, which is ultimately the single most important resposibility of a parent.

Do you drink when we agree? Indicated you're a rare to modest drinker. Or do you simply have a glassed raised in predetermined opposition?
