If the eighteen year-oldes are old enough to fight for our country where they have to make good decisions to stay alive, then they are old enough to drink if they wish. Along with that comes responsiblity and they should be treated equal to any other adult

Then why does it bother you? Seems to me you would be anti-alcohol altogether.

They have the right to drink at the tender age of 21. What does that right have to do with the others we have. Umm, nothing. I can't believe your throwing such a fit about a younger drinking age instead of fighting and trying to get another president in office instead of the idiot we have. Or maybe your one of these that haven't lost a loved one to a drunk driver. I bet if you had, your tone would be a lot different.

You are very correct though about getting a decent president, and I do comment on that subject too. I believe that by your anger at the drinking age subject, that you have experienced a very bad happening. I am very sorry for anybody, whose loved one has been killed by a drunk driver, and also been killed in any other tragic and senseless event. I wish you a Very Merry Christmas

A lot of 18 year old are still in HS. We don't need a lot of drunk students running around. They act stupid enough as it is

You are correct though, any change to the existing law would also cover kids that are still in school, however they should be considered adults and treated as such. That includs conquences for bad behavior. Merry Christmas

Along with that comes responsiblity and they should be treated equal to any other adult I do not agree with dropping the drinking age to 18. 21 is soon enough, as I can personally attest. Unless the military service branches have changed their individual policies, 18 year olds and above were allowed to drink at the on-base/on-post service clubs. Unless this has changed over the years, I must stick with my opinion to not lower the drinking age. Believe me, there are no positives in relation to alcohol consumption. It's all negative to some degree.

Any 18 year old serving in the U.S. Military can already buy alcohol anywhere they want in most of the U.S. provided they can show valid military Identification.

How about letting 18 year olds buy alchol if they have a military ID card and 21 years old for civilians. It woild also make military recruiter's jobs a lot easier.r

Any one that is immature - thinking that they have life figured out and don't know how to hold a job, control tempers, stop texting while driving or even manage the basics of balancing a check book, and yet think they "know it all" don't know how to manage alcohol. Maybe the current age should be raised to 35 since I know many that still struggle at this age and their problems may have began when they burnt too many brain cells at younger ages with alcohol.
