It wasn't an option but 120 would be better.

Doesnt matter the more retrictions you put the more they will break the law to drink.Less restrictions more partents take better control of there children.Thats the way to go.Besides !8 was good enough for our fathers and so on.No reason to change it now.

If you can fight to defend your country at 18 (and potentially be killed for doing so) then you should be allowed to drink at 18!!!

The argument about fighting for your country and drinking is older than the New River. Alcohol is a drug, it’s also a flammable liquid (yum yum). Nothing good comes from drinking. How many deaths and broken homes are the direct effect of drinking. The least the society can do is delay people 3 years from ruining they lives and others. With every right there is responsibility. Teenagers are not the most responsible people when it comes to drinking or driving. Where people may have a right to drink I have a right not to share the road with a drunk teenager. There is a reason their insurance rates are high. Drugs are regulated for good reason.

It really does not matter now does it? I can go through Hinton on any given day and find kids 15 and younger stoned out of their minds. It has always been like that. Law does not exist in this lawless county.

You can go to WAR at 18, why should you not be able to drink?

I never understood the reasoning of not being allowed to buy alcohol until 21. In all other aspects of life, you become responsible for your actions, whether good or bad when you turn 18. In cases of voilent crimes, even younger. As mentioned, you can go to war, also join law enforcement, buy cigarettes, get married, get a job, file taxes, get credit cards, take out a loan...... Why does the government think 18yr olds are mature enough to make those type of decisions, but not mature enough to make a responsible decision about alcohol?

If 18 is old enough to vote and go to war they should be old enough to drink.
