Leave it where it's at. Some teenagers get into enough trouble now.

Might as well, or at least with a military ID. You can die for your country at 18, but not drink!

Tough subject, 29 States lowered the drinking age to 18 during the Vietnam War Era, if you can die for your Country, you can drink. If you can be drafted and die for your Country, you can drink. This was resended after the War Era, cause and effect, a rise in traffic crash deaths by 10%. There is no longer a draft, if you volunteer to serve, then thats your business, it is not a license to drink.

There is no disputing that. But, I disagree with you on military. Draft has nothing to do with it, nor volunteering, the thing that makes the difference, in my opinion, is if the military will allow someone to sign up for service, potentially putting them in harms way, in an adult role, why could these individuals not be allowed to drink alcohol? It's not about draft or volunteer, it's about the Government saying they are old enough to give their life for our country. Maybe we should look at changing the age to sign up for military service to 21? It's not a license to drink, but it is a double standard.

As I said, tough subject. If you are serving in the Military you can drink at 18 years of age, this is Beer which is 3.2% alcohol by volume while on a military base. I would suggest Beer going back to 3.2% alcohol by volume period. This would allow 18 year old's to drink Beer Nationwide. Ten percent Beer is intoxicating three fold. Eighty proof is 40% alcohol by volume. You must not just think Military service, you must think 18 year old's as a whole. Tough subject.

The only ones who want to lower the drinking age are kids.. kids are more likely to drink and drive then a 21 yr old..

Young adults aren't fully capable of taking care of themselves at 18. Some are, but most aren't...sadly

hell we send them die in some foreign country. 18 is a man and they are held responsible. if you can die for this country at 18 you should be able to drink in it at 18

The minimum age should be raised to 21 most teenagers who drink are doing it as an act of rebellion. So if the age is lowered then they would less likely do it. Very few teenagers are alcholics, most usually try it once and are done. So, I see no harm in lowering it they're going to get it illegally then of its not lowered.
