Why doesn’t the churches elaborate on this more?
I have yet to hear one church say that Jesus died because of the message he was bringing to us.
of course we got John 3:16 ;
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
but to children…which we all are children compared to the Holy All Knowing Father, we need a little more detail to “whosoever believeth in Him…or just say “believeth Him”… meaning His message.

<quoted text>Vic, if your still out there somewhere…I know we don’t see eye to eye where religion is concerned…you see…Jesus said there is no true church here on earth yet…the kingdom of heaven is within us..meaning spiritual. But here’s something I was wanting to ask you but some freak kept acting like you and me were the same person ~rolls eyes~ and I never got to bring this up…so here I go; can you agree with me that the churches tend to preach about Jesus’ death as a sacrifice so that we can all be saved and enter into the kingdom…that He died on the cross for our sins and our sins were washed away by the blood of the lamb…etc. etc. etc….can you see where that little saying is misleading the masses? Jesus died on the cross because of the message he was sending out to us…. He did not die on the cross to save us from our sins,“exclusively”.

Vic/Pam,
There's so much to address here now that we realize another manifestation has made itself known. I'll have to let it percolate a bit. Let's just say. Read all of Romans 1 to find out what Paul (Who never met Jesus) was really talking about instead of the fraction Vic/Pam quoted. And for you Vic/Pam, you might want to check our Romans2:1 I quote: 1Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

Well lets see now Chuck....I could refer you to " Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.(Romans 1:27).
Of course, this is 'just' the New Testament, and I seem to recall that you doubt some of the accepted NT writings as authentic.
Apparently you are wanting a reference that condemns homosexuality from one of the 'Gospel' accounts....no, wait, I think that you rejected John as spurious. Hmmmmm....
Now why don't I waste my time giving you scripture to support my position, when you subjectively reject any scripture that you don't agree with?
Christ is the spirit of prophecy by which the entire New Testament was produced. And so, the book of Romans contains the very words of Christ (transmitted via the pen of Paul to mankind). If the book of romans is inspired, then those are the same as the words of Christ.
Face it chuck, you are no 'red letter' Christian. Jesus said “For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote about Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?”(John 5:46-47.)
Do you believe the writings of Moses? What did Moses write about homosexuality in the book of Leviticus?
Mar 7:21 "For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,"
JESUS, speaking here, uses the word 'pornea'(fornications). This includes all sexual immoral acts - including homosexuality. Check out any credible Greek dictionary.
IMO, there is no question that the entire Bible condemns homosexuality. All credible scholars agree. Translators agree. Early church writings agree. Christians today agree.
Why don't you just forget trying to make Christianity compatible with homosexuality. Join the anti-God pro-homosexual movement. You would fit much better there.
I cannot help but remember that you are associated with actors guilds etc and that often these are well represented by the gay community. I am sure that you are torn between what you imagine to be true (Bible is anti-homo) and what you want to be true(God loves homosexual behavior). Believe me, the two are not compatible.
Amen VIC...
