God came up with the perfect solution. Tax everybody the same percentage points. It's the fairest way to do it. If you make a dollar, you pay 10 cents. If you make 2 dollars, you pay 20 cents. That way, can't anyone say it not fair.
How sad

Pragmatist is now more than an editor. She has become a censor. No wonder this site attracts mostly those with an IQ at about her level.

I agree. We know from experience that if taxes are raised more on businesses and/or the rich that we, the middle class, end of paying in the long run through higher retail prices. It hurts the middle class, plain and simple!

Don't understand the big deal! The 14th Amendment, section 4, is pretty explicit, once the legislative branch has verified the expenses by vote, which they have, to not allow the expenditures they approved months ago is not legitimate under the constitution.

The wording "the validity of the US public debt shall not be questioned" , The Executive Branch has an obligation to cover the commitments of the legislative branch. Obama, get with it and raise the Debt Ceiling, to insure the validity of the US public debt shall not come under question, by other nations.

Big business has not fulfilled its' obligations as GOOD CITIZENS since WWII. They in affect have been allowed to become DRAFT DODGERS, under the all volunteer service. We as citizens have an obligation to serve for the good of the country, and when called by draft we served. The Corporations and shareholders, under the constitution have the same obligation. Since the all volunteer service is in effect they have decided to opt out of that obligation. Every business plan in the US should have a requirement to Do Know Harm to the country that protects all of their rights to make as much as they can squeeze.
If exporting jobs increases profit by 20% and keeping jobs at home only maintains a 10% profit, they should be GOOD CITIZENS and keep the jobs here. What do we as a country manufacture and sell to other countries? Very little as far as I can see. Give tax breaks for every job created here or kept here and penalize the hell out of every job exported overseas. IMHO

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Taurus

You have a very high opinion of someone today. In fact, you're really impressed with them and you'll probably sing their praises to anyone who'll listen. If you meet someone for the first time now, you'll be very impressed and this will never change throughout your relationship. But try not to idealize them into something they're not.
