I don't see why giving everyone the right to marry effects anyone else. Only taking it away effects people negatively. Saying it's "too much" or that gay people will "ruin marriage" is on par with saying "they deserve less than I do" and "I'm scared."

If people in Hollywood can spend millions of dollars to get married for 72 days, then it shouldn't be a big deal if two people of the same sex want to get married for a lifetime.

Until someone can tell me how a same-sex marriage changes another couple's marriage, OR why Newt Gingrich can thump his chest about marriage being a solumn vow between 1 man and 1 woman (except in his case when he wants to divorce ONE wife going thru cancer treatment and his SECOND wife (whom he asked to agree to an open marriage between himself and his mistress of 6 years)- i'm going to support full and equal recognition of same-sex marriage!

News Flash James, There will never be a day when all people treat everyone as “equal”. That’s the importance of TOLORANCE!!
If you choose to live your life rolling around with some guy, do it! But don’t expect everyone to agree with your lifestyle and certainly don’t expect any preferential treatment because your different (your admission) from the person next to you. It's only a controversy if the two involved in the marriage acted like adults.

If the man or woman either don't trust each other, they shouldn't have gotten married in the first place. Trust includes financial, health, devotion, emotion and respect for each other.

Civil union sounds like civil war. I don't like it. It shouldn't even be called 'Gay Marriage' it should simply be 'Marriage'.
