civil unions are a joke. Marriage is between a MAN AND WOMAN.

I don't understand why the terminology has to matter really. Whether you are "married" or have a "civil union" you are still recognized as a legally bonded couple with all rights granted under this union. Enough is enough already. I am "married" and am straight, however, we did not perform a religious ceremony, have it in a church, or married by a preacher; therefore we had a civil ceremony, not a marriage. BUT, we are still legally married. So I say again, a legal union is clearly good enough.:)

So you're not just a racist and a drug user but also a homophobe? Why is that not surprising. There are plenty of homosexual marriages. Some churches even perform gay marriage rites. So there's the opinion of one racist drug addict versus the opinion of ordained ministers who marry gay people. Ill go with the ministers.

If we can get any two people together that actually stay together and set a proper example I say go for it! Gay marriage is non issue, how about leave people to choose for themselves, it's a choice for the individual not the bigots.
Much rather live in peace and freedom next door to a gay couple than follow the haters into life of fear and ignorance.
