You didn't cite section two, where it explicitly recognizes man and woman as unequal, just like between children under 21 and adult citizens. There are no gender equality rights in the Constitution. I don't understand taking a law meant to benefit the families' of freed slaves then radically rewriting it to allow a fundamental change in a basic cultural institution to allow same sex marriage. When they debated the 14th, Congress defined marriage to stop polygamy, we've got the same type of program with DOMA.
