It doesn't look like Kentucky is too quick to use the death penalty:

Kentucky
Does my state have the death penalty?
Yes, Kentucky has executed a total of 2 people since 1976.

What is my governor's position on the death penalty?
Governor Ernie Fletcher (R) supports the death penalty for the most heinous crimes.(outdated)

How many people are on Death Row in my state?
There are currently 37 prisoners on Death Row in Kentucky. Of the 37 Death Row prisoners, 8 are black, 28 are white and 1 is Latino. Of these 37 prisoners on Death Row, one is a woman.

Is there anything like the Center on Wrongful Convictions in my state?
Kentucky Innocence Project
Gordon Rahn, Program Coordinator

We should have public hangings in the county where the crime is committed. There is no deterrent factor when you put somebody to sleep behind closed doors.
Hell we can make a day of it, bring some moonshine, pack a picnic basket and try to schedule the hangings during Hillbilly Days.

You can then say, now youngins if'n you kill somebody and get caught they will stretch your neck down here in front of the court house in front of you friends and family!

Need to quit costing tax payers millions of dollars keeping murderers on death row until they die of old age. Spend millions giving them a free lawyers and trial after trial and appeal after appeal.

Do like they do on Gun Smoke, after the judge says you will hang by the neck until dead, they hang you the next day!....lol...but save one for Hillbilly Days!

OK! I understand why some people are for this, but let me ask you this, if this was your child who did this crime, would you still be for it? A parents love is suppose to be unconditional. I believe this mostly hurts their families not them. If we kill them, then all we are doing is putting them out of their misery instead of keeping them alive to face the every day tortures that most people face these days. I say put them in the worst place in the world with out any visitations, phone calls, tv, toothbrush or paste, and no pillows. Let them sleep on the hard cold floor. Feed them nothing but bread and water and only enough of that to keep them alive until they die on their own. Now that would be a severe punishment.

nobody has the right to play god. Nobody means nobody. The shooter will reap his just punishment when he stands before his maker. Two wrongs don't make a right

How do you figure no one is playing GOd? There is only one that has the power to determine when someone lives or dies, anything else is murder. Because the legal system is doing it doesn't make it right. The government has no say. I think he should be held in the worse possible place for the rest of his life, As someone else said keep him in a deep hole. Feed him bread and water to keep him alive and let the good lord above determine when his last breathe will occur. I think he should be made miserable, chained down at all times and hosed off with ice cold water for showers. He doesn't deserve a ounce of dignity..no compassion..But taking his life is just as wrong as what he did.

if it were my son or daughter i am sorry to say that i still would support their death penalty. i couldnt live with myself knowing one of my own took someone else life....the pain and suffering the families are going through...why should my flesh and blood live because they took lives of others

There is no penal code in America that lists the use of the legal death penalty as murder. You may think it's murder but under US law it is NOT.
