When will we realize we need to cut spending?
The figth wasn't wether or not to raise the debt ceiling it was that fiscally responsible representitives were insisting on spending restraints / cuts and wanted a Balanced budget Amendment to insure that spending was reduced. To save us in the future.
It is easy to put off the problem and ignore it but it needs taken care of Now not when its to late.
We could tax the wealthiest 5 % at 100% tax rate and we still would spend more a year than we take in !!
When do we say enough is enough? STOP spending money we don't have?
The arguement that we have raised the debt ceiling over 70 time why the fight now is ludicrous ! Why wasn't it done sooner !! It should have happened 69 times ago but just because it dind't then doesn't mean it's a bad idea now.
If you and I spend more than we make every year why would it ever be a bad idea to try and prevent spending more than you make?
Why is this a bad thing to try and spend less? Sooner or later you have to stop spending mor ethan you make.
Do you want to wait until the country cannot borrow anymore?
Taxing the rich will not pay all of the bills. We stil woudl spend more than we take in. So we could cut spending or find others to tax more!! The Dems use this class warefare as aweapon to divide us.
After the rich they will come after the middle class next Because we will still have more than the poor.

The middle class is getting smaller as the country has shifts from a industrial/ manufacturing base to a service based economy.
How do we improve the job market?
Is increasing taxes to corporations and the wealthy going to improve pay and increase the middle class? NOPE
They will just move more operations out of this country.
It's easy to say let's tax the corporations and the wealthy more but what is the end goal?
Is it to impove our economy and the lot of the average citizen or is it just to get more money to buy votes?
The class warefare montra is tax the rich,"I am not one of them". It's just a too to divide ad control.
Increasing taxes is a quick fix that won't fix anything only delay the end. The government will create long term jobs only by "not" taking money. Who will pay taxes when everyone works for the government or is unemployeed ? We need private industrial to become prosperous! Big government isn't the answer it's the problem.
