Let's be honest. People that know that their children would grow up in a awful world will do the right thing when the condom breaks. It's already a hard enough decision without people pushing their views down a poor girls throat. It's the woman's choice. It's her body.

Women should only be allowed to get abortions if something is wrong with the baby, it is endangering the mother, or you were raped. If you got pregnant and you weren't raped, maybe it was an accident and the condom broke or your birth control was defective for some reason, you still WILLINGLY had sex, and took the chance knowing the possibilities and consequences. If you don't think you can keep the baby, not financially support it, or give it a good loving home that it needs, give it to someone who can. Someone who deserves a kid and can't have one of their own. You can change someones whole world and output on life if you give them something that they can't create on their own. Baby's are a blessing, and the by far best thing that could happen to a person, and from the time they are conceived to the time they are born, they are ALIVE, and getting an abortion because you don't want a baby, take a step back and think about what your taking away from someone else. You are killing a poor innocent child who didn't even ask to be brought into the world in the first place. Don't be selfish people, and do the right thing.

Abortion is murder. It does irreparable damage to the women who have abortions to terminate their pregnancies. Women are never told this by so called "women's right to choose" advocates like Planned Parenthood. If you don't want your baby, give it up for adoption.

Abortion should be legal. I don't think women should have one just because they were careless. But there are certain circumstances that warrant having an abortion.

The damage I'm referring to is psychological. I've known women who chose to end their pregnancies this way and every single one of them has suffered emotionally because of the choice they made. Yet, I've never heard a single person who says "gee I wish I'd had an abortion instead of choosing to raise my child or put him/her up for adoption". I would never judge someone for making that decision, and I know that not everyone reacts the same way to having an abortion, but I truly believe that women are often pressured and not given all of the facts when considering abortion.

"The damage I'm referring to is psychological." Where's the evidence and statistics supporting your claim?

"I've known women who chose to end their pregnancies this way and every single one of them has suffered emotionally" I've dated a few women who had abortions (before they met me) and they did not suffer from their decision whatsoever. They regarded it as a good decision.

"Yet, I've never heard a single person who says "gee I wish I'd had an abortion instead of choosing to raise my child or put him/her up for adoption" I've heard women say "I wish I didn't get pregnant by that man." I've never heard a woman say that she regretted her decision to have an abortion. I'm sure that it happens, but people should think through all their decisions. In some cases, going through the physical rigors of pregnancy then knowing that your child is out there (adoption) is far more emotionally damaging that having an abortion.

"I truly believe that women are often pressured and not given all of the facts when considering abortion." I agree. Women are often pressured and attacked by religious groups who try to inculcate guilt and shame. In many cases, abortion is a good decision and a necessary medical procedure.

Keep religion and emotion out of this difficult issue. Think and use Reason.

There you go again.

She never mentioned religion that I could see in this post. Discounting dissent because of an assumption is a dangerous shortcut.

I would never choose to keep a child from a random teenage hookup. That would be like totally giving up my life & body over a complete mistake. You can have the abortion before there is even a heart beat. Women used to use herbs to induce their periods aka abort a fetus. It's my body, my womb, my life, my decision.

The extremism is usually motivated by religion, especially in the abortion issue.

Is your claim that religion is the only reason to ever want to protect a child until it has been fully delivered and is breathing on its own? I thought more highly of society myself.

"Is your claim that religion is the only reason to ever want to protect a child until it has been fully delivered and is breathing on its own?"

That is a loaded question. For one thing, not all abortions involve "children." There are scientific terms for the various stages of pregnancy. I do believe that the concept of an unborn child is a real thing, later on.

Secondly, religion is almost always the motivation behind extremist fanatics who blabber on about how abortion should never be permitted, no exceptions. These people have never even considered the real moral dilemmas that mothers sometimes face.

All of u that are for abortion, take a long look in the mirror at urself and think what if my mother aborted me! Women who have sex have the chance to get pregnant no matter what contraceptive they use. If ur not ready for a child then don't have sex. The selfishness and stupidity of people today, its no wonder the world is so screwed up. And for Anti ur a man and have no idea the joys of giving birth and have no right to debate on the subject.

Sometimes killing is justified, such as in cases where abortions are necessary to save the life of the mother. And that is not the "end of the story," because such moral dilemmas are not neat and tidy. They require thought, not emotion.
