It's America I thought this was the land of the free so we should have the right to do so

Your talking about a baby doesn't it have rights. I'm a mother and I believe if you think your grown enough to open your legs than your old enough to take responsibility for your actions women need to get your life together if you don't want kids its called birth control or condoms they are available to everyone! It's different if you were raped or its a life and death situation.

i am against it.. if you are not already to be a parent then don't go messing around with a bunch of people.. and opening your legs,

If it has a beating heart you probably shouldn't. Anytime before that is fair IMHO.

I am very conflicted on this issue. On one hand, I see AS's point on heart beat, but as a mother, I know the heart starts beating about 3 weeks after conception. Most women can find out they are pregnant about 2 weeks after conception, so that only leaves a week to decide to have an abortion if you try to get it done before the heart starts beating.

I also think it's really easy for us to say "don't open your legs", but we also know realistically that sex is going to happen, and the responsible ones that would abstain are the ones who would never abort in the first place. Sometimes I think maybe the woman should have a choice, if the child that would have been born would suffer in life. If someone isn't ready for a child, or flat out doesn't want it, she will probably have a string of men in and out of that child's life. She will probably leave the child with others so that she may continue to be selfish with her own wants and interests. I just don't know that it is better for that child to have lived, under such circumstances.

Personally, I never would have had an abortion, but I had children when I was ready. I am Christian, and I believe it's not my place to judge someone who does decide to have one. I believe God gave us the ability to make choices, and if abortion is a choice they need to seek forgiveness for, then it is their sin to reconcile with Him.

I guess I didn't offer much of an opinion, but it just goes to show how complex this issue is.

Well WELL said! My exact thoughts typed for me.

Although I think it should b legal, I do believe that a mother, will always think back...what if I didn't have an abortion...was it a boy/girl...what would he/she look like.?? Mothers do regret abortion, fathers do regret having missed out on fatherhood.

A baby doesn't choose to be conceived, therefore why should something so innocent and helpless, be destroyed by our selfish actions? You say the mother has a right to do with her body as she pleases? Well don't you think the baby has rights also? Yes this is America and we are free, EVERYONE IS FREE! Including the unborn. We wonder why America is in a downfall, and people say God bless America. Well how do we expect him to bless us when we destroy every thing that he has called is to be?! What do you think he thinks about abortion? Its the same thing with gays, do you think he's happy with that? Or any other sin? Do you pat a murderer on the back after he kills someone? Do you tell him, I'm so happy for you for murdering that person? Well then why has it become the norm to congratulate a gay couple, who has recently gotten together?? Why is this ok?? What does God think about all of this? We wonder why our world is crashing down on us, when the answer is crystal clear, right in front of us to see. So I challenge each and everyone on this website, to sit down and think. Sin is not ok, in anyway shape or form, and abortion is one of them.

If you choose to have sex then you choose to take the chance of getting pregnant

We have laws against killing dogs so why is it ok to kill an innocent baby? There are options like adoption or if you don't want to go through that then you can leave the baby on the front steps of any church fire station or hospital no one will look for you u can't get in trouble and your child would have a fair chance at life.

And that goes back to little girls and women if you have sex then put your big girl panties on and take care of responsibility either get on birth control, tie your tubes, or make him wear a condom there is no excuse not to do one or the other. Stop being lazy!

i dont have children but still would like to state my opinion. i think if a person girl chooses to hav an abortion then it is completey up to tht girl to make the final decision and other people should just accept it whether they like it or not. its their decision not yours.

They call themselves pro choice but what choice are they given that baby? No one has the right to choose if a child should die including the "mother" who says her body her choice. She had a choice to use protection n be careful but wasn't now her choice should b gonr

choices r nevr gone no matter the circumstances. sumtimes condoms dnt work and sum people just arent ready to b a parent, although i do agree they shuldnt b having intercourse but tht nevr stopped anyone. adoption would b ok but then thts a whole other story about the childs growth and feelings towards the parents who gave them up. no matter wht abortion is always going to b a lose lose situation bcuz who is anyone to tell a person they cannot hav an abortion. if it was made a law tht abortion was illegal then tht would be going against our freedom of choice.

In my opinion abortion isn't the right thing to do, if you're responsible enough to open your legs then your responsible enough to take care of a child! Or if you honestly feel or know that you can't take care of your child then adoption is the best option, you have no idea how many women would love to have/care for a baby because they've had problems conceiving in the past. I have women in my family who've had trouble conceiving and I know it breaks their hearts to hear about people aborting these innocent babies, its not the baby's fault that they were created so why should their brand new lives be cut short because his/her parents didn't use any contraceptives..

the laws are completely flawed if a prenant woman is on her way to an abortion clinic n gets killed the killer is charged with two counts of murder yet if they had waited a few more minutes that "mother" would have killed that baby herself. You think killing an unborn baby is ok then why when a mother goes crazy n kills her newborn do y'all go crazy calling her a murderer but if she had killed it before it was born then it was her "right". Go look up partial birth abortion then come back m say u still think its ok

What's the difference in killing my 2 year old toddler? The only difference is that the baby hasn't come out of your body yet. If you don't choose to abort, that baby will be born and will become a 2 year old toddler. It's not about a woman's choice, it's about a life of a human being; a baby.
Think about this; If you have a chicken egg that you know will hatch tomorrow and you smash it with a hammer, did you kill the chick or was it just an egg? Think about it.
