What gives all these people the thought that they have any right to say what I or any other woman does with themselves. Abortion is a personal choice. The person making that choice has to live with the consequences of having an abortion or raising an unplanned child. That person is the one who has to answer to themselves everyday for their choice, and only they have to answer to whatever higher power they believe in about their choice.
Exactly.

As I was saying before, most people who are against abortion aren't just trying to take away your personal choice. If they believe in life at conception then what you view as your personal choice is murder to them.
I have to wonder when during a pregnancy you think it is too far to abort. Maybe you'd understand if you realize that that's how they feel about it right away. If the fetus is a living human, then it would be murder no matter how terrible and consequential it is to have it for the mother.
As I've said before, I'm not against early term abortion. I just think the discussions we have for and against it aren't going anywhere because we don't look at the situation scientifically. Until we can find out when life begins, there really is no answer as to whether it is okay or not.
I believe that life begins at conception, yet I feel that NO person has a right to tell me or any other woman what we can/should do with a pregnancy. Early term, mid term, or late term abortion is abortion and you are either pro-life or pro-choice. Sounds to me like you sway whatever way will please many instead of standing up for your own belifs. The decision of if it is ok or not should not be put in ANY persons hands except the one making this life changing decision.
This debate will NEVER be agreed upon, people have their own beliefs but who are you or any other person to judge what I or any other woman have done or will do. The only one that has any right is the higher power I believe in.

I believe that you shouldn't kill a human life. I really don't care how many people agree with me or not. If I did I would be saying all abortion should be okay and not question it at all like most people were doing. Maybe you were misunderstanding me when I said I can understand all sides. That doesn't mean I agree with them.

As a woman I understand that pregnancy can be terrible and very negatively affect your life. I still don't feel like you have a right to take another over it. People don't have a right to their children's lives. If I had a child and decided it was ruining my life and I didn't want to take care of it anymore should I just kill it? I feel like within 30 weeks the fetus might as well be just as alive as it will be when it is born. That is okay if you disagree with that. I won't stop you or be morally offended if you or anyone else wants to have an abortion. I just wish people would have it as soon as possible before it develops very far.

Since you probably need some labels so you can decide whether to get angry at me or not, I am not a pro-lifer. If anything I am pro-choice. I just don't agree with late term abortions.

And you don't have to be either pro-life or pro-choice. The issue is not as black and white as you would like to think.

This is a big problem for our country when it comes to politics. People just choose one of two sides and don't think about anything besides the black and white. It just becomes a one side vs. the other like some kind of sport. These are real issues and not games and we should start thinking about more than just what side we like.

Well from my understanding of pro choice (a woman's right to choose to have an abortion), I am pro choice. And considering we are on the topic of a very two sided issue, I stated my "side".

Women that do not take proper measures to prevent pregnancy are taking that risk of getting pregnant and should not have an easy way out of it. I believe abortion should be illegal; unless rape, incest, severe retardation, or deformities are present in the child and the parent does not have the resources or mindset to care for that child. If a woman makes a choice to have sex, she should have the consequence of having the baby. If she decides after the 9 months that she doesn't want the baby, put it up for adoption, because there are PLENTY of women that can't have kids, that would give anything to have that child. Women that have abortions take advantage of the fact that they can screw around and not have any consequence for their actions. It's not fair to the women out there that cannot have kids and it's definitely not fair to the child that was murdered because their mother decided she didn't want to take care of them.

Just because you are entitled your beliefs and opinions does not mean you are entitled to impose them on the rest of us. If you want to have 3 kids you can also pay for your own damn kids and not expect or accept the tax payers to educate them or provide you with tax exemptions via earned income credits. You wanted them, support them yourself!

In case you forgot, this forum is for people to say what they feel. Don't come down on me and judge me for my opinion. It's called FREEDOM of SPEECH!!! I did not have an abortion because I made the choice to have sex, so I also needed to make the choice to be responsible and not murder a defenseless child. Say what you will, but I am a great mother and have ALWAYS taken care of my kids, WITHOUT any help from anyone. I chose LIFE, not murder. Someday, the women that murder their children will have to answer to God and they will be judged by him. Enough Said!

Peachy! Then don't tell me or any other woman she can't have an abortion - a legal, medical procedure in case you forgot; and don't go assuming it's an "easy out" when you're clueless on the facts. Fine, have your opinions and feel free to express them, just DON'T tell the rest of us what to do.

You take from the tax payers - it's called earned income credits for your kids, deductions for your kids, public education & free lunch programs for your kids and private school vouchers for your kids ..... as well as college tuition and loan assistance for your kids if/when they go. You had them, why should I pay to educate them?

Try walking in someone else's shoes before you decide how they should live.

What about women who do take responsible measures to prevent pregnancy (condoms and birth control), but those measures fail? Should they be forced to carry and then raise the child? Is that really fair? And the adoption/foster system is so overloaded. While there are plenty of women who cannot have children, there are far more children who do not get adopted.

For what it's worth I wholeheartedly agree with you. Mom of 3 us presumptuous and quite frankly offensive and insulting when she states,
"Women that have abortions take advantage of the fact that they can screw around and not have any consequence for their actions. It's not fair to the women out there that cannot have kids ..."

Her statement is a bold, factually inaccurate statement. Unless you ask a woman why she chose abortion, it's disingenuous to assume she made the decision as a means of birth control or convenience.

And furthermore MOM, who ever said life was 'fair'? So some women can't bear children and I imagine some men may not be fertile. Do you think people with chronic illnesses are happy with their conditions which they didn't ask for? Life's unfair Baby, deal with it. Someone's inability to have children is not my problem. I suppose next you'll say birth control is wrong and those of who can should bear children for those who can't ..... that absurd notion follows your vein of logic.

There's only one thing I agree with you on and that is leaving the judgement up to God. Let's just be human and act like human and stop being judgmental. Everyone has their own issues, dilemmas and circumstances. No one can say they would do things differently unless you really are in the other person shoes.

Also, religious or not I think we all agree that the Govt most definitely can't be God. So they should be the last one to pass judgement on what a woman can or cannot do with their bodies.

WOW. It looks like RMQuinn37 is running things around here, and does not want to hear what anyone against "Her" beliefs, have to say. I have always taken care of my kids myself. I have worked hard and have made enough money to where I can't get any kind of deduction, so who are you to judge me? You say not to judge, but yet, you do. You probably feel this strongly because you've had to make that choice yourself, who knows. I DID pay for my own kids' college, lunches, everything, and never needed any kind of assistance because I do believe you should take care of your own. All I am saying is that plain and simple, it is murder. This is my opinion and I am entitled to it, just like you are with your high and mighty, better-than-you attitude. Get over yourself and let others speak have their opinion without being attacked.

There is a big difference between expressing your beliefs and telling others how to live and making unfounded conclusions as to why they do what they do. If you can't see that, well than you really didn't learn much in school. As has been said, try walking in someone else's shoes before you say women have abortions out of convenience or some such nonsense.

There you go judging again; saying I did not learn anything in school. WOW. You DO have issues. Everyone is entitled to say what they feel and that's all I did. You are saying what you feel aren't you? If I had to walk in a woman's shoes that was thinking of abortion, I would know in my heart, the right choice is to NOT MURDER!

Let it lie and go on to someone else who wants to hear your better-than-you attitude, because we are all full up of listening to it here. Again, Get Over Yourself. You are not perfect, just as no one else is...

Thanks BOB from Livermore, you summed it up in just 2 words...

It's not the baby's choice or fault they were brought into this world by a "mistake". The baby has just as much of a right to live as anyone else. My mother was almost aborted because of a "mistake". We sure are thankful she wasn't!
