Abortions are fine if they are early. Late, third trimester abortions are illegal in most cases and rightly so.

Only in life or death, self defense types of situations. It's still a human life.

But just who on this earth is rightfully qualified to make that yes/no decision for another person. Would you have that decision left up to the political arena or religious zealots? In an attempt to overturn Roe v Wade, there would have to be a fast appeals process unlike the way courts drag out justice. So who would you set up to say yes or no to a termination request? The local preachers, rabbis, priests, sheri ff,mayor, police chief, little blue haired ladies? Come on, who has those qualification to make decisions over others in a non criminal situation?

In the very early stages, it is not a "baby" or "person." Only later on during a pregnancy does abortion become a moral issue. not a rocket scientist wrote: Only in life or death, self defense types of situations. It's still a human life.

I agree with anti-theist also. If your going to that route then everytimeyou throw away a condom your throwing away babies. But the sperm aren't babies yet so that wouldn't make sense. I think its okay to have an abortion if its within the first few months. The earlier the better. And I'm not saying its okay for a woman to have an abortion every year or something. But everyone makes mistakes and makes irresponsible decisions at some point in their life.and that's a decision that the person making has to live with the rest of their life but I don't think its a decision someone else should be making for them.

I fully believe a woman has a right to her own body, however abortion should not be a regular form of birth control. It should be used in a last resort senario, in which the mother is either unfit to be a parent or cannot financially support a child. Both men and women need to be responsible and preven unplanned pregnancy in the first place. But if a woman feels it is the best decision to terminate the pregnancy (within the early part of pregnancy) then she should be able to do so.

Don't put words in my mouth. It's simple. The law could say you can only abort if ones life is in danger. Her doctor can determine if there is a life in danger. Easy enough. It still remains between her and her doctor etc.

There shouldn't be a need for a "law" in the first place if the doctor and woman are going to make the decision. A "law" would only be there for selective enforcement on a few by a few.

Why not give them what they want/need?!

Well given the fact that I would be the one going through 9 months of pregnancy, giving birth, supporting a child for the rest of my life, or wondering about a child I gave birth to the rest of my life, I believe it should be MY choice and ONLY MINE! My body, my life, my child, my CHOICE.

Oh and it's better to torture an unwanted child by bringing into the world and being unable to take care of it, or give it away an have the child spend their life wondering why?

"Plain and simple!! THOU SHALT NOT COMMIT MURDER!!" Why are you quoting Bronze Age mythology and what does that have to do with any important subject? Abortion is not always murder. "its in the book!! and yes it is murder" The Bible doesn't say anything about abortion (but really, it doesn't matter because the Bible is fiction). countrygirl wrote: <quoted text> Plain and simple!!
