Mysore, June 18- The Social Democratic Party of India in a philanthropic gesture got two inmates of Central Prison in city released who were said to be still languishing in the jail despite their completion of sentence for non-payment of fines imposed on them.

Nanjangud, June 11- In a freak mishap caused by bursting of explosives used in crackers, an old woman died on the spot while her husband was severely injured and four houses gutted in Badanavalu village of the taluk here yesterday.

Mysore, June 11- The Bandipalya APMC Merchants' Welfare Committee has appealed the Revenue Minister V. Sreenivas Prasad, who is also the Mysore District in-charge Minister, to get the busy Mysore-Nanjangud stretch of national highway 212 widened into a 4-lane road.
