I agree that it's a stupid move to bring back Esche, but I would take Hitch over Stevens anyday of the week.

Well, if Hitch is no upgrade over Stevens, than they should go with Peter Laviolette. He has a stanley cup ring and his system of hockey would fit in great with the talent the Flyers have on their offense.

FYI ... from TSN.ca

PHILADELPHIA -- Derian Hatcher's tenure as an NHL defencemen ended Monday -- right around the time his coaching career began.
Hatcher announced his retirement -- ending a 17-year playing career -- and was immediately named player development coach with Philadelphia, where he spent the past four years. Hatcher takes over the position from Eric Desjardins, another former Flyer who stepped down to pursue other interests.

I would go with Laviolette or even Bob Hartley over Stevens. They both are real good coaches IMO.

Esche isn't coming back to Philly, he told the Flyers he's going to fulfill his contract in Russia. Some of you are pathetic. I hate everything to do with Philly. Do you guys forget it was him who took your team to the EC finals in 2006 before the lockout. After that he came back had a couple bad games and you already withdrew any support. And look Nitty didn't do jack and now your on another goalie.

I guess that's Philly's thing. Not keeping goalies, no wonder why there are no cups out of Philly ever.

The reason nobody wants Esche is because he was a cancer in the locker room and a head case. We are already going to have one goalie like that now, why add another. Just stay up in your little NY town and worry about your team.
