Isles can begin looking ahead; will DiPietro be ready for camp?
In hindsight, it's not surprising that extreme youth and inexperience combined with injuries totaling 581 man games lost produced the last-place season the Islanders concluded at the Coliseum.

Kessel leads Bruins past Islanders
Phil Kessel had three goals and an assist to help the Boston Bruins wrap up their Eastern Conference championship with a 6-2 victory over the New York Islanders on Sunday.
Michael Ryder, Marc Savard and Chuck Kobasew also scored for the Bruins, who will face Montreal in the first round of the playoffs.
Tim Thomas made 32 saves for his 36th victory.
Radek Martinek and Doug Weight had goals for New York. The Islanders finished last overall in the NHL, losing their last four games. They had 47 regulation losses.

Yann Danis made 29 saves, and the New York Islanders snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday night.
Richard Park, Radek Martinek and Josh Bailey scored for the Islanders, who took three of four meetings this season against Tampa Bay. Jesse Joensuu and Bruno Gervais each had a pair of assists.
Matt Pettinger had the only goal for the Lightning, losers of six straight (0-4-2).
