Little early to be thinking about it. I hate shopping anyway and sure don't want to be there when it is wall to wall people trying to knock each other down to get to an item that they cannot live without.

Actually it's only 23 days til black Friday!

I agree it is a very "hectic/chaotic" situation when it come to the sale items. Black Friday to some is like deer hunting/fishing to others - You spend time planning which stores and which items you are going after. Just like a hunter or fisherman wants to find the perfect spot and gathers all their gear.

To each "her" own. I don't shop much.(mostly online) I would never get out on "Black Friday". I find it's much more relaxing with a fishing pole in my hands. But that is just me. LOL. Have fun on "Black Friday" but you wont see me. I will enjoy my day off staying home lovin' my hubby!

The economy is bad, but does that your kids will not get anything for Christmas? Last year, I saved over $200 by shopping on Black Friday. And we were able to get gifts for 2 kids from the Angel Tree. Someone said it is like hunting, that is about right! I was just interested to see how everyone here thought about it and I guess not many people from Abingdon go on Black Friday. That is good news for people like me! I would rather get up at 3 in the morning one time a year to ensure my kids have a good Christmas. I am not saying you all do not want the same for your kids, this is just the only way we can try to fill their wish list without breaking us up. To me, it is worth it.

Trust me alot of people around here shop on Black Friday - Kmart, WalMart, Targer -----they are ALL packed. I just get pissed when people get up early (like you said at 3) and go wait in line for the 5 o'clock "sale" to begin adn other people just rush the line! They act awful!!!!!!! I am sorry if someone was there before you be respectful enough to realize they were the early bird.

I totally agree with you Rude. Last year, I almost ran over by a woman and I called her on it, she just said, "Maybe next time you'll move your a*s!" It's those people who ruin the day for everyone else. Most of the time, everyone is really polite and know that we are all there for the same thing. One year they were having a great sale at K-mart and we were lined up outside waiting. They came out and gave us numbers. It was only for the jewelry dept. but I think it would be great if all the stores did this for the most wanted and limited number of items.

Last year someone was trampled to death waiting on that "bargain" at walmart. I hear they're selling caskets now, so maybe those of you at the front of the line can get a holiday 'deal' on one. Happy shopping.

Just because someone does not shop on black Friday does not mean that their kids will not get anything for Christmas. Some people save all year long to be able to give their kids a Christmas.

I would just as soon not risk getting trampled to death at the door of WalMart by some over anxious person trying to get to the big sale. I think it is more important ot be alive on Christmas morning.

Are you sure you don't get up at 3 in the morning to satisfy yourself? Most kids are happy to get whatever is under the tree. I'm not sucked in by the advertising world. My kids have a very nice Christmas backed by the true meaning of it.

I believe everything is going to turn around for us in 2010. God has shown us that turning from him has devastating results. When we are blessed to have jobs and security again, I truly believe that we will appreciate and take care of what we are given. God does say when MY PEOPLE turn from their wicked way, I will hear and I will restore. This is MY opinion for the new year and I believe and Love My God like many out there do. Christmas is about family and sharing love--giving gifts is nice, but having my family around me is most important. I love them.--I don't know about you guys but I've had enough "black Fridays" for a while.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Libra

If you're invited to a party or gathering today and you don't know whether to go, you should. You'll have a terrific time and you might meet someone who always makes your knees go weak. Even if it's a perfectly harmless flirtation and you're both happily committed to other people, it will still do your ego good to have a tantalizing conversation with this person.
