As MLive.com's own Ansar Khan reported , the IIHF unveiled the dates upon which the national hockey federations taking part in the 2010 Olympics will name their rosters, with the pertinent dates for Red Wings fans taking place on December 25th , December 27th , December 30th , December 31st and January 1st, 2010 .

The Hockey News proclaims Nicklas Lidstrom of the Detroit Red Wings, the best defenseman in their November 16th "Defenseman Issue." The weekly magazine polled six hockey experts to rank the NHL defenseman in 11 categories and Lidstrom was the winner in four and received votes in two others.
