I did an image search for 'Mike Smith diving' and strangely enough, this was the only thing that came up... - Matt Kartozian-US PRESSWIRE Big changes in the Coyote's organization this offseason will see them make the jump from 22nd in the league to 2nd. But while moving up in the NHL's alphabetical listings as the rebranded Arizona Coyotes is good and all, it doesn't address the on-ice product.

Let's quickly look at what the other teams in the Pacific and Central Divisions have done this offseason and draw a comparison of roster depth.

Eighteen months ago, Arizona hockey fans were not sure they would have a hockey team much longer, management of Jobing.com seemed in limbo, and local government/tribal nation relationships in the State were strained.

Dubnyk unveils new mask

After spending the 2013-14 season split between the Edmonton Oilers, Nashville Predators and Montreal Canadiens organizations, goaltender Devan Dubnyk signed a one-year deal with the Arizona Coyotes in the off-season. Dubnyk worked with Swedish artist David Gunnarsson, to come up with the design, which features a Coyotes logo on the top, two animated giraffes on either side and his son Nathaniel on the back.

When Radim Vrbata departed for the cooler, wetter and more financially-palatable pastures of Vancouver in early July, Arizona Coyotes fans were left with a sense of shock, confusion and sadness. The void left in the wake of Vrbata's absence was quite noticeable, even to the most casual fan.
