Brodziak (6'2") nice Acquisition. Now I'll put on the GM hat.#1) Sedin twins (6'1" & 6' 2") in free agency solid offense.#2) Ollie Jokinen (6'3") from Calgary for picks and prospects (Calgary needs cap space-Bouwmeester) I like Sedin, Jokinen and Mikko Koivu up the middle of the ice.#3) Trade Pierre-Marc Bouchard to Edmonton's for Dustin Penner. Similar contract amount (different term) and I'm certain Penner (6'4") wouldn't mind leaving Edmonton. Fresh start and the Wild needs more "touch" and "presence" in front of net (Powerplay). Win/win for both organizations. Edmonton needs more skill.#4) Finally re-up Harding for $1.25M for three years. Say goodbye to Gaborik, Bouchard, Vellieux, Bergeron, Foster, Fritsche, & Olvecky. A new era.

I didn't know you can make a team trade with you (Edmonton). Picks AND prospects? Isn't that why the Wild have no depth NOW? EDMONTON needs more skill????? Isn't the Wild's problem a lack of scoring??? C'mon... is this Doug?????

Maybe it should of read Picks OR Prospects. Two of Edmonton's top four scorers are defenseman. Bouchard is beer league great. Against soft teams or on the powerplay he looks like Gretzky. Against sandpaper lineups, he disappears. We need more Mikko Koivu's (size, skill, determination, and leadership). Owen Nolan's body of work last year proves my point. Stick your nose in there all over the ice and get to the net, good things happen. As an opposing defenseman, I'd rather battle one-on-one vs. Bouchard than try to wrestle Penner (6'4" 245) below the dots. The guy is a beast. Size isn't the only factor (see Andrew Brunette--he is unbelievable), but nice to have. Again, Chuck should pursue the Sedins, Jokinen, & Penner. Obviously, easier said than done. Burke did it in Anaheim and watch what he does in Toronto. Tough to play against and big.

I'm just giving you a hard time. I agree they need to guys to stick in front of the net. Living in MI now, all I see are the Wings just jamming the net- ALWAYS shooting it (because sometimes it goes in). I still think PMB might be able to be something if they open it up a bit. I don't see them getting the brothers AND Jok. Would love it if they did but then you have too many stars... Not a good locker room fit.

Looking fwd to the season(s) ahead.

I think the Sedin brothers combined would be around 7M per yr (long term). Same as resigning Gaborik. Jokinen is 5.25, but Wild has some cap space available with graduating some UFA's and RFA's. Butch for Penner is almost a "push". We need Harding. Obviously starter quality, but can't say enough about being deep between the pipes. I agree with your analysis of the Wings. Their talented players play HARD! They don't play in round rinks (no corners)and are FEARLESS. I was hoping Franzen would be available in free agency. Wings should of won the cup, but MA-Fleury played great the last two games. Have to tip your hat to MA-Fleury. PM Bouchard has Datsyuk "mits", but not the same edge. How does Datsyuk beat three guys in a phonebooth??

According to Foxsports, the Sedin bros are looking for 12 year $63 million each.

Well that's what they are asking for from Vancouver. Not gonna happen. Granted I hate them but they can play hockey.

Be interesting if they were in Minnesota. Can you imagine a Sedin-Sedin-Clutterbuck line?? Two a-holes and a scrappy hitter. It would be our "You better f-ing run cause we're coming after you" line.

The Wild do not have anyone who can score more than 15 goals in a season. That is a serious problem. It they go to this wide open style without adding 3 #1 line type players we are going to be having this chat next year with the #1 pick in the draft.

Velvet Frog, your enthusiasm is admirable, but you don't seem to see the big picture. The Sedin brothers aren't coming here. Neither is Heatley or Havlat or Gabby or Jokinen. No one's going to trade for PMB and his $4.75 million salary ($4.05 million cap hit.)

What the Wild needs are guys like Saku Koivu, guys that'll cost $2-3 million and can play solid 50 to 60 point hockey. It would be nice to have some younger versions of that type of player as well, especially wingers. But there will be no "star" signings. The Wild are trying to build three lines deep, and that requires lots of GOOD players, not stars. Think guys like Miettenin.

$13 million only goes so far, and we need a lot of pieces.

T-Bone, Mikko will score 80 points next year, 30 of them goals. He's your #1 C in this new system. He does need two wings, though. You are correct there.

Wrong.

Owen Nolan, Andrew Brunette, Mikko Koivu, Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Antti Miettinen all scored 15 or more goals last season.

Several other players were on track to score more than 15 and had extended injuries.

Appearantly Marty Havlat is OK with coming here, dude! You are correct in this point; we need to get Saku Koivu in the fold for the next two or three seasons.

Daily Horoscope for December 11

Capricorn

You're dashing around in several directions at once today because you're gripped by the burning desire to get things done. You're in a tearing hurry, and the problem is that this could make you rather irritable if things don't go the way you want or people don't jump to it. You might also be feeling angry with a friend, even if you can't put your finger on what's wrong.
